Methyl (Z)-3-bromo-3-(4-methylbenzenesulfonyl)prop-2-enoate reacted with acetylacetone in THF in the presence of sodium hydride (3 h, 50°C) to give methyl (E)-3-acetyl-2-[(4-methylbenzenesulfonyl)-methylidene]-4-oxopentanoate as the only product. According to the X-ray diffraction data, the crystalline product has enol structure. © 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Stereoselective anti-addition of methyl acetoacetate at the triple C≡C bond of phenyl- and 4-methylphenyl phenylethynyl sulfones in the presence of sodium hydride yields the corresponding Michael adduct containing an impurity of arylsulfonylacetophenone. In the reaction with 4-methylphenyl phenylethynyl sulfone, methyl (Z)-2-acetyl-4-(4-methylphenylsulfonyl)-3- phenylbut-3-enoate was also obtained. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

1-Phenyltricyclo[]heptane reacted with N-bromo-, N-chloro-, and N-iodosuccinimides and with mercury(II) acetate in the presence of sodium azide as external nucleophile to give conjugate addition products to the central C1–C7 bicyclobutane bond with a norpinane structure, where the azido group and the phenyl were attached to the same carbon atom (C6). The bromo- and chloroazidation showed anti-stereo-selectivity, and the iodoazidation, moderate syn-stereoselectivity; the mercuroazidation afforded exclusively the corresponding syn-addition product. Hydro-, bromo- and chlorodemercuration of the mercury adduct with sodium tetrahydridoborate and elemental bromine and chlorine, respectively, did not involve the azido group, and the original configuration was retained. The reduction of the hydrodemercuration product with LiAlH4 gave 6-exo-phenylbicyclo[3.1.1]heptan-6-amine which was transformed in three steps into conformationally rigid 6-endo-(acetamido)bicyclo[3.1.1]heptane-6-carboxylic acid. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

3,5-Disubstituted 1,4-dihydropyridazine-4-carboxylic and 4,6-disubstituted 2,5-dihydropyridazine- 3,5-dicarboxylic acid esters undergo isomerization into 2,5-dihydropyridazine-4-carboxylate and 1,4-dihydropyridazine-3,5-dicarboxylate derivatives, respectively, by the action of a catalytic amount of a mineral acid or strong base at 20°C. The transformation may be regarded as prototropic rearrangement, and it includes two consecutive 1,2-hydride shifts. The direction of the isomerization is determined by higher thermodynamic stability of the isomer containing a β-aminoacrylate fragment. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2012.

Phenyl α-bromovinyl sulfone reacts with glycine ester Schiff bases regioselectively in the presence of catalytic amounts of AgOAc and DBU yielding polysubstituted pyrrolidine cycloadducts. Utilization of excess DBU induces subsequent facile aromatization of the cycloadducts and affords 5-arylpyrrole-2-carboxylic acid esters in 39-85% yields in a single step. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. The study included 120 patients with pre-cancer conditions of the stomach and 30 patients with gastric cancer stage II-IV. The ELISA method in the blood serum was used to determine the markers of the infection caused by Herpes simplex virus (HSV) types 1 and 2, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). The majority of the patients exhibited high titers of markers of Herpesvirus mixed infection. These data allow recommending the determination of IgG antibodies to antigens of herpesviruses in patients with the diseases of the stomach and assigning the appropriate antiviral drugs.

The possibility of the usage of Lentinus tigrinus fungus strain VKM F-3616D for biodegradation of high (up to 5%) phenol concentrations in liquid medium and the involvement of laccase and peroxidase in this process have been studied. L. tigrinus fungus was demonstrated to effectively degrade phenol with easy biomass deletion from the liquid. Decrease in phenol concentration was accompanied by increased secretion level and laccase activity at the preliminary stages of biodegradation, while that of peroxidase was at the latest stages of biodegradation. These enzyme secretions in distinct ratios and consequences are necessary for effective phenol biodegradation. An effective approach for phenol concentration decrease in the waste water of smoking shops in meat-processing factories using L. tigrinus fungus was described. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Generation of direct current in a semiconductor superlattice under the action of an ac bichromatic field is considered in the most general case of an arbitrary ratio of the frequencies of the fields being mixed. It was performed a comprehensive experimental and clinical study of functional and metabolic status of the intestine in acute peritonitis, pancreatic necrosis, acute intestinal obstruction. We obtained objective data of impaired barrier function based on levels of toxins in arterial and mesenteric venous blood. Association of organ and organismic homeostatic changes was revealed. It was proved an important role of membrane-destabilizing processes in intestinal epithelium as a cause of enteral insufficiency. Leading trigger mechanisms of lipid metabolic disorders were determined. Enteral distress syndrome was determined as pathological response to acute abdominal surgical diseases. Enteral distress syndrome is a complex of pathological processes due to membrane-destabilizing mechanisms, impaired intestinal barrier function followed by progression of endogenous intoxication. This syndrome significantly aggravates the course of acute surgical abdominal diseases.
