Despite advances in medical treatments for colon cancer, it remains one of the leaDing causes of cancer-related mortality among men. Thus, more efficacious treatment strategies for colon cancer are needed. Imperatorin is one of the major ingredients present in the root of Angelica dahurica, and has been used in herbal formulations for the treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. However, the medical properties of imperatorin remain unclear. In the present study, the anti-proliferative activities of imperatorin were investigated in the HT-29 colon cancer cell line. The results showed that imperatorin significantly inhibited HT-29 colon cancer cell growth with an IC50 value of 78 -M. Imperatorin induced the apoptosis of colon cancer cells through upregulation of p53 and the caspase cascade. Our findings revealed that imperatorin induced cell cycle arrest in the G1 phase. The apoptotic index showed a steady increment when the imperatorin concentration was increased. The results suggest that imperatorin exerts considerable anti-proliferative activities in HT-29 colon cancer cells and highlight the potential of imperatorin as an anticancer agent for colon cancer.

The change rules of high liquid limit clay and high liquid limit silt on wetting-drying cycles were compared and analyzed by analyzing the test results of the height, mass and compression coefficient of the two soils. The change rules of high liquid limit clay and high liquid limit silt were also studied from the mechanism aspect. From the research results, it can be found that the change rule of mass and height of high liquid limit clay is similar with that of high liquid limit silt. The rate of mass change and height change tend to smooth with the increase in the number of wet and dry cycles in these two soils. The change rule of compression coefficient is also similar in these two soils. After one wetting-drying cycle, the increase rate of the compression coefficient of high liquid limit silt and high liquid limit clay is between 40%~180% and 40%~180%, respectively. The compression coefficient of these two soil tend to smooth after three wetting-drying cycles. The compression coefficient of these two soil tend to be equal after five wetting-drying cycles. But the compression coefficient of high liquid limit silt is less than that of high liquid limit clay in wetting-drying cycles. It also can be found that the wetting-drying cycle is an irreversible process for the two soils.

The present study investigated the neural processes underlying "same" and -"different" judgments for two simultaneously presented objects, that varied on one or both, of two dimensions: color and shape. Participants judged whether or not the two objects were "same" or "different" on either the color dimension (color task) or the shape dimension (shape task). The unattended irrelevant dimension of the objects was either congruent (same-same; different-different) or incongruent (samedifferent). ERP data showed a main effect of color congruency in the time window 190-260 ms post-stimulus presentation and a main effect of shape congruency in the time window 220-280 ms post-stimulus presentation in both color and shape tasks. The interaction between color and shape congruency in the ERP data occurred in a later time window than the two main effects, indicating that mismatches in task-relevant and task-irrelevant dimensions were processed automatically and independently before a response was selected. The fact that the interference of the task-irrelevant dimension occurred after mismatch detection, supports a confluence model of processing. © 2013 Zhang et al.

An intelligent remote monitoring system of public lighting is designed, which takes singlechip as MCU to realize the detection, control and alarm of binary and analog variables, such as the operating condition, voltage and current of field terminals. The system receives command from monitoring center and uploads the detected data and alarm information to it via GPRS communication. The monitoring terminal consists of the high-voltage main circuit, switching power supply, man-machine interface, communication module, data acquisition unit and switching control unit. The software of monitoring module is developed with Visual 2005.net, Windows 2000 Server is employed as the operating system and 2000 SQL platform is used for the database management system. The software system includes the subsystems such as the master control, data service, network service, map service, etc. The designed system meets the requirements of decentralization, networkization and intelligentization.

The plastic strain finite element mesomechanics simulation of polycrystal martensitic transformation bring up non-linear model of influence microscopic phase transition rate and stress. Further developement and application of Marc and on the base of microscopic chemical energy distribution, evenly. As the simulation showed: 1) Early into the plasticity than that of single crystal.2) Microplastic strain distribution is not uniform, microplastic strain maximum, minimum value ratio in different incremental step fluctuate greatly. 3) Meso martensitic transformation is not uniformly distributed, and uneven degree decreases with increment step. 4) The macro transformation rate simulation curves are exponential trend, and into the fully plastic state reached the point. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
