Five novel coagulants, DC-491, Fennofix K97, BWD-01, MD-03 and MD-04 were chosen to treat reactive brilliant red X-3B simulated wastewater by jar tests. The results showed that the decolorization efficiencies were all higher than 75% at initial pH 8.2 and temperature 20°C after 20 minutes of reaction. Then, two typical coagulants, BWD-01 and MD-04 which had better performance were chosen to study the effect of dye removal of X-3B at different operating parameters, including coagulant dosage, pH, sedimentaion time and reaction temperature of simulated wastewater. Decolorization efficiency of MD-04 for X-3B solution was higher than 80% in pH range from 3 to 9, while for BWD-01, efficiency increased from 37.3% to 82.3% in this pH range. For both BWD-01 and MD-04, the color removal efficiency increased as the solution temperature increased and the maximum efficiency was over 94% at 40°C. From March to October 2009, a field survey was conducted on the darkling beetle community structure and related environmental factors in the desert grasslands with different vegetation cover and human disturbance intensity in Sidunzi of Yanchi, Ningxia, China. By using diversity index and canonical correspondence analysis (CCA), the relationships between the beetle community structure and related environmental factors were analyzed. A total of 5431 individuals were collected, belonging to 20 species and 10 genera. Blaps femoralis femoralis, Microdera kraatzi kraatzi, and Platyope mongolica were the dominant species, accounting for 47. 30%, 39. 90% , and 3. 59% of the total, respectively. CCA explained 100% of the correlations between the beetle species and related environmental factors, suggesting that the occurrence of the beetle species had close relations to the changes of related environmental factors. Among the environmental factors, the Shannon diversity index of plant community (HP), plant biomass (BP), and soil water content (SW) affected the beetle species occurrence most. The occurrence frequency of Mantichorula semenowi, Anatolica amoenula, A. stemalis, and A gravidula was negatively coiTelated with BP and plant coverage (CP), and that of R. gobiensis, Cyphogenia chinensis, Gonocephalum reticuluatum, and Crypticus rufipes was positively correlated with plant density (DP) and SW. Aimed at misalignment caused by shaft deformation under centrifugal inertial load for eccentric rotor-bearing Friction pair, hyperboloidal sliding bearing that have correct centering was designed. According to the lubrication theory and the reliability design theory, optimum design with numerical algorithm of hyperboloidal sliding bearing based on the reliability constraints were put forward. Different from ordinary optimization of sliding bearing based on empirical correlation, the multi-objective mathematical model of sliding bearings based on the reliability constraints was established and solved by numerical algorithm. Global optimum design plan of the sliding bearing's parameter were obtained, under meeting carrying capacity and strength conditions of the sliding bearing, the friction power and temperature rise of the sliding bearing were minimal, volume of the sliding bearing was decreased. © 2011 American Scientific Publishers.

Odontothrips yunnanensis sp.n. is described from Yunnan in Southwestern China. Unlike most species of this Holarctic genus, the fore tarsi and fore tibiae do not have any teeth. The base of the sensorium on the sixth antennal segment is more than half as long as the total length of this sensorium, as is typical of species in the genera Odontothrips and Odontothrip-iella. In contrast, species of the Asian tropical genus Megalurothrips have the base of this sensorium less than 0.3 as long as the sensorium. Almost all species in these three genera breed only in flowers of Fabaceae. Males of this new species bear on tergum IX a pair of stout sigmoid processes. © 2010 Magnolia Press.

A new genus and species, Yaobinthrips yangtzei, are described from Southwestern China sharing many character states with the Austro-Oriental genus Parabaliothrips within the Frankliniella genus-group. Within this group the new species is distinguished by the presence of tergal craspeda, a pair of uniquely bulbous modified setae on the fore tibiae, enlarged fore femora with a basal tooth, and paired small pore plates on sternum VI of females. © 2010 Magnolia Press.
