We have conducted an analysis of hazards for the natural environment and population of polluting a sea area with oil products. Despite the fact that the wastes, that had formed during an accident in the Kerch strait, in conformity with the regulatory documents existing in Ukraine are classified as low toxic ones (hazard of class IV), the experimental research is an evidence of their potential hazard in connection with mutagenic activity found. A conclusion was made that in case of their build-up and the prolong contact with the environmental objects a negative effect of the natural environment and man may manifest itself. © Allerton Press, Inc., 2010. We have investigated the impact of the Naftusya medicinal mineral water, Zbruchansk deposit, on the mineral balance of blood serum of rats irradiated at the dose 5.0 Gy. It has been found that the use of this water in the treatment courses of the animals' peripheral blood the concentrations of magnesium increase and that of zinc and copper decrease.
