Preliminary screening of phytochemicals is a valuable step, in the detection of the bioactive principles present in medicinal plants and subsequently may lead to drug discovery and development. In the present study, chief phytoconstituents of the six selected medicinal plants of different families were identified in order to relate their presence with bioactivities of the plants. Screening of six selected medicinal plants were performed for the presence of tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, steroids, phlobatannins, carbohydrates, glycosides, coumarins, alkaloids, proteins, emodins and anthraquinones using standard methods. All the selected medicinal plants were found to contain Steroids and Coumarins except Urginea indica (Roxb.) Kunth and Wrightia tinctoria R.Br.respectively. Moreover, tannins and terpenoids were present only in Spatholobus purpureus Hassk. On the other hand, saponins were present in Terminalia bellirica L., Parthenocissus quinquefolia L. and Spatholobus purpureus Hassk. Carbohydrate were present in Wrightia tinctoria R.Br. and Spatholobus purpureus Hassk. plants. While alkaloids are present in Cyclea peltata Arn. ex Wight and Wrightia tinctoria R.Br. Whereas phlobatannins, emodins and glycosides were absent in all the selected six plants. It is evident from the study that Spatholobus purpureus Hassk. and Wrightia tinctoria R.Br. is of highest therapeutic efficacy possessing majority of phytochemical classes of compounds and Urginea indica (Roxb.) Kunth is of lowest therapeutic potential due to the absence of majority of phytoconstituents.

By condensation of hydrazine hydrate with Bis-chalcones in pyridine medium titled BisPyrazolines have been synthesized. Structure of these compounds have been characterised by spectral analysis, all compounds have been evaluated for their In vitro growth inhibitory activity against different microbes like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Salmonella typhi. The solutions were prepared in DMF solvents.The culture medium used was nutrient agar medium.

This article reports investigations on thermally stimulated third order nonlinear absorption in Cu-PVP nanocomposite thin films. Cu nanoparticles have been obtained using chemical reduction method and thin films of Cu-PVP nanocomposites have been obtained using spin coating technique. Thin films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Ultravioletvisible (UV-vis) spectroscopy, Fourier infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopy, etc. for structural and linear optical studies. Third order nonlinear absorption studies have been performed using open aperture z-scan technique under continuous wave (CW) He-Ne laser. Cu-PVP nanocomposites are found to exhibit strong nonlinear absorption coefficient stimulated by thermal lensing effect. © 2016 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.


Heteroacyclic and Heterocyclic containing drugs showed remarkable and noticeable drug absorption, transmission and drug effects; hence they created their own identity and importance in pharmaceutical, medicinal, agricultural and drug sciences. Thioamido, pyridino, thiobiureto and alkylamino heterocyclic compounds showed various significances and applications in industrial, pharmaceutical, medicinal and drug chemistry. Considering all these facts into consideration it was thought interesting to synthesize( 2-butyl-4- substitutedthiamldothiocarbamido-1- {[2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl) biphenyl- 4-yl] methyl}-1H- imidazol-5-yl) methanol(5) by interacting (2-butyl-4-thiocarbamido- 1-{[2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl) biphenyl- 4-yl] methyl}-1H- imidazol-5-yl) methanol(3) with various isothiocynates(4) in ethanol-acetone medium. The( 2-butyl-4- thiocarbamido-1-{[2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl) biphenyl- 4-yl] methyl}-1H- imidazol-5-yl) methanol(3) was synthesized by interacting( 2-butyl-4 chloro-1-{[2-(1H-tetrazol-5yl) biphenyl 4yl ] methyl}-1H -imidazol-5- yl) methanol (1) with thiourea (2) in ¡sopropanol medium. The justification and identification of the structure of these newly synthesized compounds had been established on the basis of chemical characterization, elemental analysis, and through spectral data.

The 1-pyridino,1-(4-thiocarbamido)phenyl-dimethylpropanamine was synthesized by interacting 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-N,N-dimethyl-3-pyridin-2-yl-propan-1-amine with thiourea in isopropanol medium. The justification and identification of the structure of these newly synthesized compounds had been established on the basis of chemical characterization, elemental analysis, and through spectral data. © 2011 RASĀYAN. Considering all these facts into consideration it was thought interesting to synthesize N-[7-(1-substituted)-2,4- dithiobiureto)-4-yl]-N,N-diethyl-pentane-1,4-diamine (5) by interacting N-(7-thiocarbamidoquinoline-4-yl)-N,N-diethyl-pentane-1,4-diamines (3) with various isothiocynates (4) in ethanol-acetone medium. The N-(7- thiocarbamidoquinoline-4-yl)-N,N-diethyl-pentane-1,4-diamines (3) was synthesized by interacting N-(7-chloroquinoline-4-yl)-N,N-diethyl-pentane-1,4- diamine (1) with thiourea (2) in isopropanol medium. The justification and identification of the structure of these newly synthesized compounds had been established on the basis of chemical characterization, elemental analysis, and through spectral data.

The present investigations reveals the physico-chemical parameters of Satnoor and Naghthana dam water in warud region, Dist. Amravati(MS), Eight samples were collected in the month of January 2013. Physical and Chemical Parameters such as pH, TDS, Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Chlorides, Magnesium, Fluoride, Nitrates, Dissolve Oxygen and COD were studied The results indicate that, there is a marked variation in Physico-Chemical parameters of this dam water. © 2014 RASĀYAN. The objective of this study was to investigate the possibility of using Moringa oleifera Bark as an alternativeads orbent for the removal of Mn (II) ions from aqueous solutions. The effect of various parameters influencing the Mn (II) adsorptions such as pH, Contact time, dose of Adsorbent and initial metal ions concentrations have been studied. The data obtained from the batch processes have been used to fit in Freundlich and Langmuir isotherme quations. This method is quite feasible, economic and time saving. The optimum contact time found is equal to 360min. The optimum dosage is equal to 0.9 gram. The percentage of removal is ranging between 80% - 85%. The equilibrium data fitted very well to Langmuir and Freundlich models. ©2014 RASĀYAN. All rights reserved.

Adsorption technique using Granular Commiphora Myrrha Bark has been applied for the removal of Chromium (VI) from aqueous samples. Batch experiment has been carried out for adsorption of Chromium (VI) onto Commiphora Myrrha Bark. The effect of various parameters influencing the Cr(VI) adsorptions such as effect of pH, Contact time, Adsorbent concentrations and initial metal ion concentrations have been studied. The data obtained from the batch processes have used to fit in Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm equations. This method is quite feasible, economic and time saving. The optimum contact time found is equal 360 min. The optimum dosage is equal to 0.5 mgs. The percentage removal is ranging between 75% - 80%. © 2014 RASAYAN. All rights reserved.

In this investigation an attempt has been made to remove Pb(II) and Co(II) from aqueous solution by using Ailanthus Excelsa Bark as an inexpensive adsorbent. Various parameters such as Adsorbent dosages ,PH and Contact time having and impact of adsorption efficiency were studied. Equilibrium contact time was found to be 360 minutes for both Pb(II) and Co(II). The removal efficiency for Pb and Co at these contact time was 85.43% and 84.71% respectively. The adsorption data were modeled by using both Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm. © 2014 RASAYAN. All rights reserved.
