The present invention provides an improved lighting system, for an LED lamp, with built-in intelligence and a controlling unit. The controlling unit comprises one or more field effect transistors and a microcontroller. The microcontroller creates a pulse width modulated signal at a frequency of approximately 120 Hz-50 kHz to field effect transistors. Further, the field effect transistors are connected in series with the LED lamp so that the microcontroller modulates a switching power converter, in addition to modulating a parallel field effect transistor.

The present invention provides an improved lighting system with built-in intelligence and a controlling unit. The controlling unit is provided with a sensor such as occupancy sensors or photo sensors as an intelligent system. The system allows the LED lamp to dim itself in response to autonomous or external stimuli.
