Cyanoselenoacetamide reacts with hydrogen sulfide to form propane-bis(thioamide), which can be used to produce thiazoles (the Hantzsch synthesis) and 3-thioxo-1-phenyl-2,3,5,6,7,8-hexahydroisoquinoline-4- carbonitrile. From the latter compound, 2-alkylsulfanyl-1-phenyl-5,6,7,8- tetrahydroisoquinoline-4-carbonitriles and 1-amino-N-(4-bromophenyl)-5-phenyl-6, 7,8,9-tetrahydrothieno[2,3-c]isoquinoline-2-carboxamide can be prepared. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Ab initio calculations of phonon frequencies of compressed rare-gas crystals have been performed taking into account the many-body interaction in the model of deformable atoms. In the short-range repulsive potential, along with the previously considered three-body interaction associated with the overlap of the electron shells of atoms, the three-body forces generated by the mutual deformation of the electron shells of the nearest-neighbor atoms have been investigated in the dipole approximation. The relevant forces make no contribution to the elastic moduli but affect the equation for lattice vibrations. At high compressions, the softening of the longitudinal mode at the points L and X is observed for all the rare-gas crystals, whereas the transverse mode T1 is softened in the direction Σ and at the point L for solid xenon. This effect is enhanced by the three-body forces. There is a good agreement between the theoretical phonon frequencies and the experimental values at zero pressure. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Purpose: Development of the emotional processes application method, by analogy with human, in technical systems of patterns recognition. It gives possibility to enhance the reliability and reduce the time spent on the classification. Methodology: We have analyzed the appropriateness of use of different emotional processes in design of classifiers of technical systems of patterns recognition. The proposed information model of human memory has been generalized for the technical intelligent systems; it was based on the Atkinson-Shifrin concept. We suggest using of emotional components in the classification algorithms for the combined systems of patterns recognition. We have determined the ways of further investigations concerning the improvement of the classifiers design methods with the use of emotional processes. Findings: Comparative analysis of human-made intelligent systems with human intelligence showed the classification results discrepancy connected with the additional emotional aspects which are not considered. The proposed information model is a generalization of the Atkinson-Shifrin model for the technical recognition systems. To make the recognition systems similar to the cognitive human apparatus, we have proposed improvement of memory model through the introduction of characteristics describing the emotional processes. This allows ranking signs for their placement in short-term memory. We have proposed to determine quantitative estimates of emotional stats as a differential of the objective function for each individual information channel. We have found out that the use of combined systems of patterns recognition requires comparison of emotional processes on various information channels. Originality: We have proposed the information model of human memory that is a generalization of the Atkinson-Shifrin model for the technical recognition systems with characteristics describing the emotional processes, and the method for quantitative estimation of the level of emotional processes in technical systems of patterns recognition. We have defined the concept of emotional processes use in combined systems of patterns recognition. Practical value: The use of proposed solutions allows implementing rational aggregate of emotional components in the technical systems of patterns recognition. For defined conditions it allows us to increase the classification accuracy and reduce the time complexity of this process.

Ceramic (La 0.7Ca 0.3) 1 - xMn 1 + xO 3 samples are studied by X-ray diffraction, resistive, magnetic, 55Mn NMR, and magnetoresistance methods. The concentration changes of lattice parameter a of the cubic perovskite structure and its average ionic radius are in good agreement if the concentrations of anion and cation vacancies and nanostructured clusters with Mn 2+ in the A positions increase with x. Phase transition temperatures T ms and T c weakly depend on x, and the electrical resistivity and the activation energy decrease substantially with increasing x due to a change in the imperfection of the perovskite structure. An analysis of the broad asymmetric 55Mn NMR spectra of the samples indicate a high-frequency Mn 3+↔ Mn 4+ electron superexchange and nonuniform magnetic and valence states of these ions because of a nonuniform distribution of ions and defects, which decrease the amplitude resonance frequency with increasing x. The magnetoresistive (MR) effect near phase-transition temperatures T ms and T c increases substantially with x and is caused by the effect of a magnetic field on the scattering of charge carriers by intracrystallite nanostructured heterogeneities of an imperfect perovskite structure. The second MR effect is located in the low-temperature range, is related to tunneling through mesostructural crystallite boundaries, and decreases weakly with increasing x. A correlation is found between the hyperstoichiometric manganese content, the imperfection of the perovskite structure, and the magnitude of the MR effect. © 2012 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

The lattice dynamics of rare-gas crystals has been constructed taking into account the deformation of electron shells of the atoms of the dipole and quadrupole types, depending on the displacement of the nuclei. The obtained equations of lattice vibrations have been investigated in the long-wavelength approximation. The role played by the three-body interaction and the deformation of the electron shells in the violation of the Cauchy relation has been discussed. The calculated Birch elastic moduli for Xe and deviations from the Cauchy relation are in good agreement with the available experimental data over a wide range of pressures. © 2012 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
