In this paper, we have presented the synthesis and crystal structures of five coordination polymers, namely, {[Ni 2(cysteate) 2(bpy) 2(H 2O) 2]·3H 2O} n (1), {[Cu 2(cysteate) 2(bpy) 2(H 2O) 2]·4H 2O} n (2), {[Mn 2(cysteate) 2(bpy)(H 2O) 4](bpy)·H 2O} n (3), {[Zn 2(cysteate) 2(bpy)(H 2O) 4](bpy) ·H 2O} n (4), {[Cd(cysteate)(bpy)(H 2O)]·4H 2O} n (5), using homochiral l-cysteate and 4,4′-bipyridine (bpy) as mixed ligands, reacted with Ni(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions, respectively. When different metal centers being used, l-cysteate gave rise to three different architectures based on coordination polymeric chains: (1) a helical chain, which is further connected by bpy pillars to generate a racemic twofold 3D (4 2.8 4)-lvt net in 1 and 2; (2) a zigzag chain, which is further linked by bpy pillars into a homochiral 2D brick-wall structure in 3 and 4; (3) a zigzag chain, which is further linked by bpy pillars into a homochiral 2D 4 4 grid network in 5. These results indicate that the metal-directed M(II)-cysteate chain has an important effect on the structural diversification of such complexes. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Context: Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) is one of the main regulators of blood pressure through its action on the renin-angiotensin system. ACE inhibitory peptides from natural materials inhibit ACE activity and have considerable importance as antihypertensive agents. Objective: A new chromogenic reaction method for determining hippuric acid (HA) and angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor activity was developed. Materials and methods: This method is based on the reaction of HA with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde in the presence of quinoline, acetate, and acetic anhydride. The redorange formation product in the reaction has a stable absorbance in the visible region and it was determined at 478 nm. The assay conditions were optimized and by using an ACE concentration of 12 mU/mL in enzymatic reaction, the method was applied to monitor the IC50 values (the concentration of inhibitor required to inhibit 50% of the ACE activity) for captopril and Saurida elongata (Synodontidae) muscle protein hydrolyzate. Results: With the proposed method, IC50 values for captopril and Saurida elongata muscle protein hydrolyzate were determined as 0.0123 M and 0.1648 mg/mL, respectively. Those results correspond to the IC50 values of 0.0109 M and 0.1820 mg/mL obtained by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. Discussion and conclusion: The proposed method is rapid, accurate, reproducible and convenient, and suitable for screening ACE inhibitor peptides from food materials while it does not require HA extraction from the components of the ACE activity assay reaction. © 2012 Informa Healthcare USA, Inc.

From March 2008 to March 2009, fishes were caught from the rivers in Sanjiang, Rongan, Rongshui, Liucheng, Liuzhou and Xiangzhou counties, and their metacercarial infections were examined by the muscle compression and digestion techniques. A total of 16,204 freshwater fishes of 35 species were collected. C. sinensis metacercariae were found in 32 species of fishes with an overall infection rate of 10.5% and a mean infection intensity of 4.6 metacercariae per gram. The highest prevalence (21.5%) and intensity of infection (9.9 per gram) were found in Pseudorasbora parva, followed by Zacco platypus (17.8% and 8.9 per gram, respectively). There were significant differences in infection rate among different localities. The infection rate in Xiangzhou County (12.3%) was higher than that in Sanjiang County (9.1%) and Liuzhou City (9.7%). The infection rate was higher in summer and autumn, but lower in spring and winter. Compared with low water layer, the infection rate was higher in the upper and medium water layers. The infection rates of omnivorous and herbivorous fishes were higher than that of carnivorous fishes.

The hormone has good functions about anti-inflammation, anti-allergy and immunosuppression, improvement of metabolism. Recently reports indicated that any admini-stration route may cause eye pressure increase, especially by the way of eye dropping. Some patients presented the hormone glaucoma such as glaucoma optic nerve harm, the field of vision damage and the vision decrease. In this review, we research and summary the status about intraocular pressure elevation related with local hormone.

Memory is to experience things that carry out the psychological process of accumulation and preservation, which plays an important role for College students’ English learning. There are many factors affecting the memory efficiency of College English, such as learning, memory skills and so on. In order to improve the memory efficiency, the more researchers are to explore from the perspective of information cognition, the emotional level’s research is less. So,on the basis of the university students’ emotional education and college students' English memory regularity, to presented emotional College English memory model, and the establishing process of English memory model carries on the theory derivation, finally through the English memory experiment, analysis emotion education on the effect of College students' English memory efficiency. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
