In order to evaluate the standardization level of railway construction project management, an evaluation model and one empirical study on railway construction project management was carried out by Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, China. This model might be useful to evaluating the level of standardization management on railway construction projects with similar nature. The literature method and comparative approach were adopted to set up the index system of railway construction project management. This index system consisted of 4 primary and 16 secondary indices. The four primary indices were: inputs of standardization management, issues of project standards, implementation of standards, and supporting measures of standardization. A combining weighed method was adopted to calculate the overall weighted index of the targeted construction projects. A linear weighted comprehensive evaluation model was employed to calculate the quantified standardization index of railway construction projects. Hundreds of questionnaires were collected from 4 railway construction projects. By employing the evaluation model, the standardization indices were then calculated as: 79.5, 69.2, 65.6, and 86.6. This research indicates that the standardization level of railway construction projects in China stays at the upper middle level. The main weaknesses of railway construction project standardization are: not enough inputs of standardization, inadequate training, and low level of construction mechanization.

The wedge may be formed by the structural planes such as faults, joints and other discontinuities existing in the rock slope, and it often controls the stability of the rock slope. In order to ensure the stability and safety of the engineering, the stereographic projection method and limit equilibrium theory are always used to analyze and calculate the stability of the wedge of rock slope. However, it is always difficult to use these theoretical methods to draw the stereographic projection figures and calculate stability factors at engineering site due to the limit condition. In this paper, based on stereographic projection method and limit equilibrium theory, the stability calculation program of the wedge of rock slope has been compiled using C++ language. To verify the correctness of the computation program, one engineering case which has been studied is analyzed using this program, and the results showed that the program can be used. Finally, taking the rock slopes of Chongqing expressway as examples, the stereographic projection figures are drawn and the stability factors are calculated. This calculation program can be easily used to calculate and analyze the stability of the wedge of rock slope at engineering site. Copyright © 2013 American Scientific Publishers.

An expert testing system of elevator control cabinet was developed based on LabView, for resolving the difficulties on elevator testing and elevator fault troubleshooting. With fault tree analysis algorithm, manual knowledge obtaining method was used, and forward reasoning strategy was employed for locating the possible reason of the system fault quickly and exactly. The system was modularized to reduce the complexity of the program. The graphical interface was programmed by LabView to improve human-computer interaction ability. The results indicated the expert system can be applied to system fault detection well and improve the efficiency of elevator troubleshooting. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

As railroad bridge is one of the most important infrastructures of railway, the safety of bridge has a direct effect on railway operation efficiency and safety. In this paper, we propose a distributed railway bridge monitoring platform based on the Internet of Things (IOT) to monitoring the state of bridge safety. We made detailed research on the sensor nodes deployment, sensing data updating and early warning mechanisms of the wireless sensor network. The proposed system achieved the desired purpose of real-time monitoring of railroad bridge safety during test in China Railway Corp. © 2014 SERSC.

Rail failure and track composite irregularity is the source of violent harassment of the wheel-rail system. Track irregularity has significant impact on the driving security and stability of the train. At present, the focus of the Chinese railway development is high speed, heavy haul and shortcut transportation, thus the influences of rail failure and track composite irregularity will be more remarkable, which has become a primary factor that limits the running speed. This paper analyzes the characters of rail failure and formation mechanism of the track irregularity, forecasts the trend of track irregularity development and explores the hidden risks that might occur and influence the safety of railway traffic. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The Simplified model of both calculating leakage magnetic field and mechanical force of windings at short circuit condition for a 120MVA/220kV power transformer is set up. The leakage magnetic field, short-circuit force and stress in transformer windings are analyzed and their distributing characteristics are acquired respectively by using FEM. The calculation method and results are validated by withstanding short circuit strength test of the product. A number of useful suggestions are given for design of power transformers.

Information management of road's elementary data will play a more important role for accident treatment, disaster relief, data management, engineering construction and others. In this study, we use the MapX and VB programs, the database of road property is designed and the methods of data's input, edit and building of Geoset object are all analyzed. The functional modules, including file management, view operation, select query, object editor, are established and the embedded procedures are all analyzed, too. Based on this, the information system are developed which can realize the information management of road basic data. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

The utility model of early warning system for train operation detects and analysis all the information from the weather detection, photoelectric detection, vibration sensor and signal of the tracks comprehensively. It determines the position of the train by the weighted coefficients and controls the interval signal and locomotive signal accurately.
