This paper aims to enhance efficiency of management through physical, logical consumer channel clustering and reliability on metering reading data, and achieve expandability of wireless metering reading network through channel use that can be identified between proximate clusters, by suggestingchannel set-up based on multichannel cluster mixed with network channel andgroup channel to resolve the problems and implement various services. Further, the article aims to reduce installment time and maintenance repair costthrough hierarchical network structure composed with four differentiated devices in wireless AMR systems, and suggest wireless AMR network based on multichannel cluster substantializing various services by supporting various movement modes through quick error recovery and back up functions. The AMI Network is based on multichannel cluster mixed with network channels and group channels, which increases management efficiency through channel clustering of physical, logical consumer, and enhances reliability on meter reading data through channel use which can be identified between geographically proximate clusters.

Recently, a high-efficient next generation infrastructure system that uses high-tech information and communication technology is required to surmount the limits of water resource management. As a result, Smart Water Grid (SWG) has lately been developed in an attempt to solve the regional imbalance of water resources through efficient distribution, manage and delivery of them. In this paper, AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) service system is a software program that can support various platforms and multiple communication standards interfaces on the basis of the systematic analysis and design of AMI service was developed in this study. In addition, certifying tests were commissioned (to the third party) the software for AMI operation to know the efficiency of the program. © Research India Publications.

Looking at the usage of South Korea’s water resources, 15.9 billion m3 (62%, excluding stream/river maintenance water) of the total water resources are used for agricultural water on annual base. Equally, water resources loss related to agricultural water is considered to be as high. Of the total loss of agricultural water, the water loss rate in open channel during irrigation is about 15% (about 2 billion m3), which takes 6% of the total usage of water resources in Korea. Therefore, water pipeline has been installed in more areas as agricultural irrigation channel in order to improve such inefficient use of water resources and difficulty of water operation management. However, we lack studies that examine the methods of effectively operating and managing the supply system of water pipeline after it is installed. And furthermore, no system has been developed yet to operate it directly on the spot.In this respect, the present study was aimed to develop pipeline operation management system that introduces high-tech information and communication technology(ICT) to pipeline that can easily control the supply of water according to change in the supply of agricultural water. Besides, this study proposed a process to establish application an operation system. © Research India Publications.

This study searched the IEEE 802.15.4a technology which is the standard of the location awareness WPAN system which provides the communication and location. The UWB technology can provide the function of the location awareness as it is adopted as the standard technology for the communication and location which requires the degree of precision within several dozens of centimeters in a relatively narrow area. Relevant common products will be released from now on because the research and development have actively been proceed at home and abroad as the IEEE 802.15.4a standard was completed. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

The evaluation standards of management efficiency for managing the water supply can be called the Revenue Water Ratio. The revenue water ratio is an important index that shows the standards on the cost of production as well as the ratio of quantities received through the rate income from the total amount of water supply produced from the water treatment plant. In general, the calculation of revenue water ratio is made on the basis of small blocks after the progression of blocking business, thus the management of water pipe network is also made on the basis of small block unit. However, the boundaries of adjacent blocks have many obscure points with many number of blocks, there are many difficulties of performing the work by the limited management personnel. Therefore in this paper, in order to improve the problems and limits of the previous block monitoring system based on inefficient small blocks, a block monitoring system based on real-time flow analysis centering on the middle block is proposed. In addition, by performing the dynamic pattern-based abnormal flow analysis considering the characteristics of each block and also by performing the real-time analysis on the rate of water supply between the classes, it will prove that the efficiency of management can be improved. © 2014 SERSC.

The previous PDA based wireless meter reading system uses the method of transmitting the meter value of the gauge using the PDA meter reader when instructed by the PDA meter reader. Such meter reading methods requires a considerable amount of time when collecting the data from multiple collectors. This paper will propose the structuring of new meter reading system (Mobile OMR) and meter reading infra (Mobile Dongle) in order to overcome the limits and disadvantages of the previous PDA wireless meter reading system using the smart devices that can directly communicate with the remote meter reading system and the mobile dongle that can be linked to the smart devices. In addition, by utilizing the many features of smart devices and to solve the problems of timely/costly occurrence of installing wireless meter reading system, meter reading and maintenance, it was configured to enable the selection change of each devices and immediate meter reading operation test directly at the site according to the situation of the site where the remote meter reading system is installed. In addition, by using the smart devices, a user authentication technique to solve the security issues on the use of application was proposed, and through the GPS and map function, the location information of installation site of each devices were accurately mapped in order to allow the convenience in management of location information on the installation site of all devices, and by receiving the log data or status information stored in the remote meter reading system in high speed, it intends to provide the installation check, meter reading and maintenance methods of remote meter reading system using the smart devices and mobile dongle that can enable to recovery of data during the failure period and reducing the maintenance time. © 2014 SERSC.

Measuring and managing the depth of sludge blanket in an internal clarifier is one of the most critical challenges in sewage treatment process. For measuring the depth of sludge blanket, two conventional methods have been widely used; contact and contactless method. In general, contactless method is more desirable over contact methods which depend on direct measurement by human operation. For a contactless sludge blanket measurement, laser, radar, or ultrasonic sensors are utilized. In particular, since the measurement process of sludge blanket should be taken under water, measurement system using laser or radar is not suitable. Therefore, in this paper we focus on sludge blanket measurement method based on ultrasonic, and propose a precise sludge blanket measurement method which can overcome incorrect measurement caused by various environmental problems. In particular, we propose two types of algorithms: moving average and exponential weighted moving average. To evaluate the performance of the proposed measurement method, we designed a clarifier test-bed. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed sludge blanket measurement method ensures more precise and stable results under various environmental conditions. © 2015, American Scientific Publishers. In this paper we focus on key management scheme for a specific WSN application such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), which is based on hierarchical tree network and performs metering data aggregation along the tree. We utilize a novel identity based key generation and propose a hierarchical key management algorithm based on encapsulated encryption. Through experiments, we prove that the proposed key management scheme is suitable for small embedded networked systems which have energy, memory, and processing constraints. © Springer Science+Business Media Singapore 2015.
