Ceramic foams have a high resistance to corrosion and wear. They also have a good thermal insulation performance because of their high melting point and low thermal conductivity. The thermal shock resistance of a ceramic foam coating with an edge crack under a sudden temperature variation is investigated. The dynamic thermal stress fields in the ceramic foam coating are obtained. Using the superposition principle, the crack problem of the ceramic foam coating is reduced to the solution of a set of singular integral equations. Propagation of the edge crack is analyzed. Effects of the relative density and thermal properties of the ceramic foam and of crack length on the thermal shock resistance are identified. The results obtained can be useful in designing thermal protective ceramic materials for thermal barrier coatings. © 2017 Springer Science+Business Media New York

With the development of the information technology era, the information technology has been introduced in various fields to improve the management level, and even the sports development is not an exception. Based on this, the factors of the new network technology in the development of physical education in colleges and universities were studied; based on the brief introductions of the types, structures and basic concepts of the new network technology, current status of the new network interconnection technology and the development of college physical education were analyzed; using the method of literature, logical analysis and mathematical statistics, through the related tests and analyses, the great significance of the development of new network interconnection technology of college sports was obtained.

The effects of the initial conditions and the coupling competition modes on the dynamic behaviors of coupled non-identical fractional-order bistable oscillators are investigated intensively and the various phenomena are explored. The coupled system can be controlled to form chaos synchronization, chaos anti-phase synchronization, amplitude death, oscillation death, etc., by setting the initial conditions or selecting the coupling competition modes. Depending on whether the arbitrary initial conditions can let two coupled oscillators stop oscillating, the dynamic behaviors of the coupled system are further classified into three types, that is, both of oscillators stop oscillating, only one oscillator stops oscillating, and none of oscillators stop oscillating. Based on the principle of Monte Carlo method, the percentages of three types of dynamic behaviors are calculated for the different coupling competition modes and the dynamic behaviors of the coupled system are characterized from the perspective of statistics. Moreover, the mechanism behind the various phenomena is explained in detail by the concept of boundary layer and the optimum coupling competition modes are found. © 2016 Published by NRC Research Press.

This study utilizes accurate first principle method to conduct a comparative study on the electronic structure of NbB and ZrB under pressure. According to the results, product compression effect on the density of states near the Fermi level and volume compression effect on the energy band structure show differences exists between the two borides. The study shall be able to provide a significant theoretical reference for further experimental research to understand superconducting materials under high pressure. © 2016 Taylor and Francis Group, London.

This study utilizes accurate first principle method to conduct a comparative study on he electronic structure of multiple borides. State density of the borides is also summarized. It is found that lanthanum boride has special electronic structure characteristics. Therefore, it is presumed that there is high superconducting transition temperature (Tc) in lanthanum boride. Leslie population model has widely been used in calculating the number of people and analyzing the age structure, but no one considered the stability ofLeslie model. The results demonstrated that the end result changed dramatically when the elements in Leslie matrix have slight variations. It is difficult to give a precise value of elements in Leslie matrix, because the elements were rates of birth or death, so the result which was given by Leslie population model is inconsistent to the actual when it was a long-term projection. © 2014 WIT Press.

J1359+4011 is a flat spectral radio quasar monitored by the Owens Valley Radio Observatory 40 m radio telescope since 2008. The light curve of J1359+4011 in 15 GHz shows a possible quasi-periodic behavior by visual inspection. In order to confirm this quasi-periodic behavior, we utilize two classical methods: structure function method and discrete correlation function method, to investigate the possible time-scale of oscillation in the time series of J1359+4011. The analytical result shows a possible time-scale of oscillation of 120-130 days. The instabilities in the accretion flow could be a possible explanation for the modulation of the light curve; and global p-mode oscillations in a thick disc could be another possible reason for this behavior. © 2015 Elsevier B.V.
