Ceramic foams have a high resistance to corrosion and wear. They also have a good thermal insulation performance because of their high melting point and low thermal conductivity. The thermal shock resistance of a ceramic foam coating with an edge crack under a sudden temperature variation is investigated. The dynamic thermal stress fields in the ceramic foam coating are obtained. Using the superposition principle, the crack problem of the ceramic foam coating is reduced to the solution of a set of singular integral equations. Propagation of the edge crack is analyzed. Effects of the relative density and thermal properties of the ceramic foam and of crack length on the thermal shock resistance are identified. The results obtained can be useful in designing thermal protective ceramic materials for thermal barrier coatings. © 2017 Springer Science+Business Media New York

A three-dimensional (3D) supermolecular cobalt phosphite (C13H28N2)[Co3(HPO3)4] with novel 6∗1 secondary building units (SBUs) Co3P4 has been hydrothermally synthesized in the presence of 4,4′-Trimethylenedipiperidine (TMDP) as an organic template. The as-synthesized compound is characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, TG analysis, luminescent spectroscopy and magnetic analysis. Single crystal diffraction indicates that it is a 3D supermolecular structure constructed from inorganic anionic layers [Co3(HPO3)4]n2n - and double protonated TMDP cations through charge interactions/compensations. The inorganic anionic layer [Co3(HPO3)4]n2n - is constructed by the 6∗1 SBUs Co3P4 in which there are three tetrahedral CoO4 and four pseudo-pyramidal HPO3 connected by vertex-sharing oxygen atoms. The luminescent spectroscopic study indicates that compound 1 exhibits blue luminescent emission behavior. Magnetic measurements reveal the presence of antiferromagnetic exchange interactions in the 3D supermolecular framework. © 2015 Published by Elsevier B.V.

This study utilizes accurate first principle method to conduct a comparative study on the electronic structure of NbB and ZrB under pressure. According to the results, product compression effect on the density of states near the Fermi level and volume compression effect on the energy band structure show differences exists between the two borides. The study shall be able to provide a significant theoretical reference for further experimental research to understand superconducting materials under high pressure. © 2016 Taylor and Francis Group, London.

In order to study the cost of the steel reinforcement construction in the subway station, through the analysis of the correlation between the costs of labour and ancillary equipment on the process of subway station construction, and the analysis of the correlation between the cost and the duration, and then established mathematical model of the correlation between the costs of labour and ancillary equipment and the correlation between the cost and the duration, which were based on the statistical analysis. So that it has been on the positive direction of controlling the cost and the duration on the subway construction. By the theory of coupling coordination degree model, explored the coupling mechanism of the costs of labour and ancillary equipment, and the coupling mechanism of the cost and the duration, at last established coupling mathematical model based on the data of statistical analysis. Those statistical data included No. 1 and No. 12 section of the Changsha Metro 3rd Line, and No. 6 and No. 7 section of the Changsha Metro 4th Line. Model results showed that the standard coordination degree of coupling coefficients in No. 1 and No. 12 section of the Changsha Metro the 3rd Line, and No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8 section of the Changsha Metro the 4th Line. By calculating the value of the degree of coordination were 0.9852, 0.9414, 0.9668, 0.6515 and 0.5383. Besides, the result of analytical computation showed that the duration decreased with the increase of the coefficient of the coordination degree. When the proportion of the cost of labour and ancillary equipment was 1, the total cost was minimum. Besides, when the proportion of the cost of labour and ancillary equipment was 1, the duration was the shortest time. So when on the process of subway station construction, we should adjust to the best value of the proportion between the cost of labour and ancillary equipment. © 2016, AIDIC Servizi S.r.l.

This study utilizes accurate first principle method to conduct a comparative study on he electronic structure of multiple borides. State density of the borides is also summarized. It is found that lanthanum boride has special electronic structure characteristics. Therefore, it is presumed that there is high superconducting transition temperature (Tc) in lanthanum boride. Leslie population model has widely been used in calculating the number of people and analyzing the age structure, but no one considered the stability ofLeslie model. The results demonstrated that the end result changed dramatically when the elements in Leslie matrix have slight variations. It is difficult to give a precise value of elements in Leslie matrix, because the elements were rates of birth or death, so the result which was given by Leslie population model is inconsistent to the actual when it was a long-term projection. © 2014 WIT Press.

J1359+4011 is a flat spectral radio quasar monitored by the Owens Valley Radio Observatory 40 m radio telescope since 2008. The light curve of J1359+4011 in 15 GHz shows a possible quasi-periodic behavior by visual inspection. In order to confirm this quasi-periodic behavior, we utilize two classical methods: structure function method and discrete correlation function method, to investigate the possible time-scale of oscillation in the time series of J1359+4011. The analytical result shows a possible time-scale of oscillation of 120-130 days. The instabilities in the accretion flow could be a possible explanation for the modulation of the light curve; and global p-mode oscillations in a thick disc could be another possible reason for this behavior. © 2015 Elsevier B.V.
