Because of their long persistence, trace metals remain an issue in terms of contamination of the environment, health and environmental risks, including in the context of reducing emissions. Data from environmental contamination are very partial and air-monitoring network insufficiently expanded to have a clear image of the situation. In this work we therefore used epiphytic lichens as bio-accumulators, across three catchment areas in the region (with very different types) in which we measured the total concentrations of 18 ETM. We also conducted several analyses of the data and spatial interpolation to obtain an aggregate indicator of biomonitoring data so that they can be associated with these health and epidemiological data. This pioneering work will advance the understanding of environmental inequalities and blackheads. Source
