From GBEA to accreditation : an example of "multi-localisation" for hospital laboratory. Since 2006, biological analysis (biochemistry and hematology) of Sainte-Marguerite Hospital in Marseilles have been accredited by the Cofrac (Comité français d'accréditation). The international norme ISO 15189 has been choosen. Recently, hormonal immunoassays have been translated and concentrated in an other hospital (La Timone hospital). An accreditation extension required for this specific activity and so, it's an example of "multi-localisation" accreditation for hospital laboratory. The authors describe in this paper the principal items that must be overcame for accreditation: quality system organisation, documentary system, staff formation-evaluation-habilitation, analytical process control (methods and analyzers validations, preanalytic phase conformity, quality controls [IQC, EQE], metrology), quality system evaluation and evolution. © 2010 - Elsevier Masson SAS - Tous droits réservés.
