The study aimed to evaluate the effects of brewers' grains incorporated to the broiler diets on growth performance. A total of 250 one day old F15 broiler chickens was randomly divided into 5 equal groups according to the substitution rate of maize with brewers' grains (0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) for 48 days.No mortality was observed in any groups. The feed conversion was poorer, and the body weights, weight gains and feed intakes were  diminished proportionally to the substitution rates in birds receiving diets substituted with 30% or 40% brewers' grains during starting, growing and finishing periods. For a substitution rate of 20%, the parameters were not significantly altered while there was an improvement with a rate of substitution of 10%. These results show that the incorporation of brewers' grains beyond 20% into broiler diets delays growth probably because of the high crude fiber. © 2014, Fundacion CIPAV. All rights reserved.
