A new method for the calibration of inertial measurement units of strapdown inertial technology is proposed. Such a unit consists of accelerometers, gyroscopes, and a signal processing system. The method of test turns and rotations on a rotary table is used to calibrate the inertial measurement unit. The new method involves measurement of the full angle of turn or final rotation. In fact, it is proposed to turn the inertial measurement unit around the axis of final rotation. To solve the calibration equation, it is necessary to make the rank of the matrix of the calibration equation equal to its order. The results of modeling data demonstrate the efficiency of the new calibration method © 2017 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC

Communication systems that provide high jamming protection of the radio exchange based on the spread spectrum signals are the object of research. Finding the optimal mode and parameters of the radiosignal shaping is the research subject. The estimation of the influence of pseudorandom sequence properties, modulation type and structure of the time-frequency matrix on the power and structural security of the spread spectrum radio signals was carried out. © 2012 Allerton Press, Inc.

A technique was proposed for creating a modeling stand intended for debugging and testing (autonomous and integrated) of the complex information processing system (CIPS). An approach is described that reflects the technologies and CIPS design stages using the methods of layered simulation models. The design concepts of the interactive simulation models have been also presented. © 2012 Allerton Press, Inc.

This study deals with design concepts of a complex information processing system with data from many different-type sources located at one or several mobile platforms. Approaches to the selection of CIPS structure and its hardware implementation were proposed. Optimization criteria were discussed for solving the main functional tasks of the system engaged in data acquisition and integration from information sources, target distribution and the delivery of target designation to users on shipboard. © 2012 Allerton Press, Inc.

Peculiarities of practical design of a wideband detector of pulse radar signals with unknown shape based on real-time spectrum analyzer to be used in passive radars are considered. Quality figures for such detector are obtained using simulation on a PC. Validity of the obtained estimates is proven by testing performed in a prototype unit. © 2012 Allerton Press, Inc.

A new model for calculating the reliability of nonreducible phased antenna arrays is proposed and it is compared with the traditional model as a stand-by nonreducible structure with loaded sliding standby. Recommendations are made on the use of the new model when designing radar stations containing more than 200 microwave components. © 2014 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
