The article describes the problem of power supply reliability of hazardous production facilities for Russian coalmines. The authors analyze the accidents in the coalmine external power supply networks for the period from 2014 to 2015 and reveal the weak points in the power supply organization. It is proved that the main cause of power supply violations is the human factor. As a way to increase the power supply reliability the authors propose the algorithm based on the objective quantitative adjectives that eliminates the subjective opinion of the staff and the management of both company-consumers and electric grid companies. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2017.

The author proposes to predict electric energy consumption in a coal mine using the botom-up flow modeling based on the hierarchy of constituents. At the top of the model hierarchy is a 'system' (coal mine) composed of lower scale objects or 'subsystems' (ensemble of mining equipment grouped based on a certain criterion, e.g. mining equipment of extraction panels, mining equipment of permanent roadways, etc.). The state of the object 'system' is described with a set of characteristics which assign admissible states for each 'subsystem'. Each object 'subsystem' is composed of the objects of the next lower level of the hierarchy, and the state of each 'subsystem' is described with a set of characteristics which assign states for that lower level objects named 'members' (cutter-loaders, conveyors, main mine drainage pumps, reloaders, etc.). This problem is solved using one of the most promising methods for the numerical modeling of random processes - direct simulation Monte Carlo method. Mining equipment is a system possessing finite number of states, and each simulation of evolution of states uses the method of probabilistic automata to generate transitions between the states according to a certain pre-set rule. Using the Microsoft Solutions Framework, the programmable solution is constructed for the numerical modeling of the Markov processes of a system evolution under random impacts and is implemented as a stand-alone application for Windows XP based on Microsoft Visual Basic 10.0. The test of the programmable solution using an exactly solvable model of a machine operating cycle has shown that the resultant current average values otained to an accuracy not higher than 11% off ersufficient information on distribution of probabilities for the analyzed parameters of the system. The energy consumption regularities found for individual members, subsystems and the system- mine as a whole using the proposed model are applicable to solving problems of energy efficiency improvement both in the stage of mine design and under normal operation.

Under discussion is the equipment for open pit mining of scarce coal reserves. Methods of overburden dumping are systematized. A new dumping method is offered; it allows reducing land withdrawal by means of utilizing adjacent open pit. The author presents relations for area of internal dumping, considering coefficient of dumping in the adjacent open pit and the volume of the adjacent open pit. The article reports research findings in the area of open pit coal mining and substantiates alternative technologies based on new technological and organizational principles of open pit mining. Using the method of geometrical analysis of an open pit mine field and technological design of mining systems, stage-wise mining technologies have been developed for the case when mining front advance is changed. Such technologies ensure the improvement of a wide range of technical-and-economical and ecological performance of an open pit mine. The residual stresses (RS) research and computational algorithms creation in complex types of loading on the product lifecycle stages relevance is shown. The RS forming finite element model at surface plastic deformation strengthening machining, including technological inheritance effect, is presented. Roller burnishing process considerably increases surface quality and service life of machine parts. Efficiency of roller burnishing rises greatly when technological inheritance (TI) is taken into account. Research results of degree of plasticity reserve depletion (DPRD) while roller burnishing are presented.
