An object of the invention is to provide a technology that can timely collects particulates in sample water even when abnormality is observed in the result obtained by a measurement unit for measuring particulates in sample water. Provided is a particulate-measuring method comprising filtering sample water continuously, even when a measurement unit for measuring particulates in sample water and a filtration unit of filtering the sample water and collecting the particulates for analysis by direct microscopic method are both in operation and abnormality is observed in the result obtained by the measurement unit.

A method for treating drainage containing hydrogen peroxide that has been used for sterilizing and washing an inside of a water treatment system or washing and surface finishing of electronic components includes passing the drainage through the hydrogen peroxide decomposition reactor, injecting effluent water from the hydrogen peroxide decomposition reactor into a side part of the tubular container of the gas-liquid separator, and contacting the drainage with the hydrogen peroxide decomposition catalyst to decompose the hydrogen peroxide in the drainage into oxygen and water, thereby yielding the treated water.

The power generation efficiency of a microbial power generator is increased by using an easy and inexpensive unit. Two plate-like cation-exchange membranes are disposed in parallel in a tank. This arrangement allows an anode chamber to be formed between the cation-exchange membranes. Two cathode chambers are separated from the anode chamber by using the respective ion-permeable nonconductive membranes. An oxygen-containing gas is made to pass through the cathode chamber. An anode solution is supplied to the anode chamber, and, preferably, the anode solution is made to circulate. A biologically treated exhaust gas is used as the oxygen-containing gas to be supplied to the cathode chamber. Carbon dioxide in the biologically treated exhaust gas can promote transport of Na

Provided is a method for effectively preventing fouling of an exhaust gas flow path of a burning equipment due to ammonium hydrogen sulfate; and thus, the method for preventing fouling of an exhaust gas flow path of a burning equipment in the present invention comprises: a step of adding a tertiary amine and/or a quaternary ammonium compound to an exhaust gas which contains ammonium hydrogen sulfate which is generated in a burning equipment thereby forming a reaction product between the ammonium hydrogen sulfate and the tertiary amine and/or the quaternary ammonium compound, and a step of controlling a temperature and a relative humidity in at least a part of an exhaust gas flow path of the burning equipment in such a way that the reaction product may be kept in a solid state.
