Spray application of ready mix insecticide Roket, a mixture of Profenofos 40% + Cypermethrin 4% @ 440 and 660 g. a.i./ha resulted in the deposits of 2.14-2.24 and 2.69-2.83 ppm on tomato fruits, respectively. The residue reached below detectable limit in 11 and 13 days after spraying in both respective doses. The safe waiting period and half life value 2.75, 2.36, 2.70, 2.16, and 3.34, 2.47, 3.38, 2.52 days during the year 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 respectively.

Spray application of Profenofos 50 EC @ 400 and 600 gm. a.i./ha. resulted in the 1.998-2.173 and 2.708-2.972 ppm on fruits with half life values of 1.16-1.24 and 1.53-1.69 days. The residue reached below detectable limit in 7 and 9 days. The safe waiting periods were found to be 1.62-1.63 and 2.28-2.30 days after spraying profenofos @ 400 and 600 gm. a.i./ha.

Population dynamics of mix population of tomato aphids, Aphis gossypii Glover & Myzus persicae Sulzer and jassid, Amrasca biguttula biguttula Ishida was studied during 2000-01 and 2001-02. The population of aphids per plant fluctuated from 2.2 and 2.4 (during 37 th meteorological week) to 13.4 (during 47 th meteorological week) and 13.8 (during 46 th meteorological week). Incedence of jassid varied from 2.2 (during 37 th meteorological week) and 2.4 (during 37 th meteorological week) to 8.4 (during 40 th meteorological week) and 8.2 (during 41 st meteorological week) during first and second year, respectively. Correlation between aphid population and mean temperatures were significant negative in both the year but with mean relative humidity it was positive in first year and negative in the second year experiment but both the year it was non significant. In case of jassid population it was significant positive correlated with mean temperature in both the year. Correlation between mean relative humidity and jassid population was significant negative in first year and non significant positive in second year.
