Population dynamics of white fly Bemisia tabaci Genn. was studied during 2000-01 and 2001-02. It was attacking the crop throughout the growth period from the third week of September during both the year. The population gradually increased and touched the peak during third week of October (2.8 white flies/plant) and declined gradually during the year 2000-01. The whiteflies population followed same trend in the year 2001-02. The population reached to maximum level (3.0 whiteflies/ plant) during last week of October (43 rd standard meteorological week) and then declined gradually. The mean temperature and relative humidity during the peaks were 24.1°C and 24.82°C, 38.5 and 47.5 per cent in 2000-01 and 2001-02, respectively. The whitefly population was positively correlated with mean temperature in both the seasons of study but negatively correlated with mean relative humidity.
