An analysis has been made of the effect of different additives on the properties of starch-based polymer composites. The authors describe the principal stages of the technology for producing such materials, which can be used for creating new ecologically safe biodegradable materials for the manufacture of films, packaging, and different products of short-time use. The main objective of this research is to analyze the influence of different number of tuck stitches in the structure repeat T s on the dimensional properties of double knittedfabrics after relaxation. The structures repeat in height consists of combination of two courses: Plain and tuck stitches. The tuck stitch fabrics (variants 1-10) have stitch repeat in width R bb = n + k, where the n - the number of tuck loops (n = 1, 2 or 3), k - the number of knit loops (k = 1, 2 or 3) present. The results of the researches showed that there are relations between the dimensional properties of the knit-and-tuck rib cloth and the different stitch repeat in width R bb. It gives us possibilities to control the level of dimensional changes of the fabrics by variation of the number of tuck stitches in the structure repeat T s.
