The integrated forest biorefinery based on forestry biomass can transform more wood components into chemical products and energy carriers to reach the more efficiently industrial use of biomass resources. And the clean and high efficient utilization of hemicelluloses has always been a key matter for researchers. Combining with single-factor tests, based on the Box-Benhnken experimental design principles, the RSA experiment was designed by the Design-Expert software under 3 independent variables, including liquid-solid ratio, the highest temperature and holding time. The optimal condition of auto-hydrolysis process of eucalyptus hemicellulose was got, the liquid-solid ratio of 13.81, the maximum temperature of 184.62°C, and the holding time of 103.01 min, with a maximum response value of 0.1331 g/g in this condition. In order to verify the reliability of the optimal condition, 4 parallel experiments under the actual conditions including liquid-solid ratio of 14, the highest temperature of 185°C and holding time of 100 min were reached, and an average amount of 0.1311 gram extractive reducing sugar per gram oven dry raw materials and 61.24% hemicelluloses can be got with the form of reducing sugar. The optimal results are agreeable with theoretical predictions within the range of the allowable error. Source
