A series of novel 3-(l,3,4-thiadiazolyl)-l,3-benzoxazines were prepared in 47%̃62% yields from 2-(l,3,4thiadiazolyl-2-aminomethyl)phenols and CH 2Cl 2 by phase transfer catalysis reaction for the first time. It was investigated the amount of phase transfer catalyst and reactants, temperature on the yield of the reaction. The structures of the products were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR. spectra and elemental analysis. The fungicidal activities of the prepared compounds were also preliminarily evaluated. A new class of [1,2,4]oxadiazolo[4,5-a]thiazolo[2,3-b]pyrimidin-9(10H)-one was prepared in moderate yields by the reaction of nitrile oxide with 2-arylmethylidene-6,7-dihydro-5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-3-one. The reaction site of dipolarphile is the C=N of thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-3-one rather than the expected C=C of aryl-methylidene.
