Poly (urethane-imide) (PUI) containing 2-hydrooxyethyl methylacrylate (HEMA) was synthesized by the method of bulk polymerization from hexamethylene-1, 6-diisocyanate (HDI), pyromelltic dianhydride (PMDA) and polycarbonate diol. The effect of γ-ray irradiation on the structure and properties of PUI was investigated with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), dynamic thermomechanical analysis (DMA), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and thermomechanical analysis (TMA). The results show that the crosslinked structure is existed in the irradiated PUI, the changes of crystalline order appears, the number of tanδ decreases, the appeared temperature of tanδ increases, the thermal stability increases.
