Based on Helmholtz-Kirchhoff diffraction integral theorem, the relationship among micro-structure parameters, incident light parameters and transmission light parameters of achromatic uniform light thin film are theoretically derived. The influences of micro-structure parameters on transmission light amplitude distribution and scattering angle are analyzed. When light beam passes through the achromatic uniform light thin film, the scattering light spot has many advantages such as uniform light intensity distribution, achromatism, controllable scattering angles and wave shape. The thin film with the maximum depth of 5 μm and scattering angle of 8°×7.5° is fabricated. The error of measured scattering angle and the theoretical angle is within ±0.5°. The designed thin films can be used in illumination, LCD backlight display, projection system as well as other applications. © 2017, Chinese Lasers Press. All right reserved.

Based on a partially coherent light source, partially coherent accelerating regular triple-lobe beams are generated by imposing phase grey-scale maps on the spatial light modulator. The numerical simulation and experimental results show that there are two key factors to decide the acceleration of the main lobes of partially coherent optical accelerating regular triple-lobe beams, which are respectively the controlling parameter β of designed phase maps and the focal length f of Fourier transform lens. The relationship between β, f and the main lobes' acceleration of partially coherent accelerating regular triple-lobe beams is also given. The results provide the mechanism of controlling ballistic trajectory of main lobes of partially coherent accelerating regular triple-cusp beams according to different research needs in the future.

We theoretically investigate the generation of square optical bottles, which are generated by a pair of symmetric Airy beams induced by a binary phase pattern. A regulable linear factor is introduced into the phase function to modulate flexibly the size of resulting optical bottle. Numerical simulations are performed and results show that a Gaussian beam can be shaped into a square optical bottle by a tunable binary cubic phase pattern. The linear factor can vary the size of zero or low intensity region of optical bottle. It is believed that the intriguing characteristic of square optical bottle can be applied in many applications such as optical tweezers, atom trapping and manipulating.
