MANET is currently a hotspot in wireless network researching domain, and the routing protocol, which is as the core technology on network layers, is particularly important. Controlling node energy and increasing network lifetime are two keys to realize the transmission of efficient service for MANET. With the idea of min cost max flow in networks, this paper sets up a max residual energy for the shortest path model and puts forward a routing optimization model based on energy control. Finally the network lifetime is defined as an evaluating indicator index to do network simulations. Results of simulations show that this model can prolong network lifetime efficiently.

In mobile ad hoc networks,one of the most important merits when evaluating a given protocol is its ability to decrease node energy consumption and prolong network service life. Concerning this problem, an improved routing algorithm based on extreme prediction is presented for a mobile ad hoc network in which the stable zone is divided by a threshold and the link availability is calculated according to the area where the node is. Choose a route according to the principle of maximizing minimum route availability. And the node adjusts its transmitting power referring to the location of the next hop so as to save energy. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm decreases network energy consumption effectively compared with basic DSR (Dynamic Source Routing) protocol, and by extension, prolongs the lifetime of the whole network.

A real-time H.264 video stream transmission system which based on standard RFC is designed and implemented in this paper. In order to overcome the adverse factors as high bit error and low bandwidth through the wireless channel, this paper proposes UDP / RTP virtual links that under the CDMA2000 EVDO to ensure real-time transmission. At the meantime, in order to make up the lack of AIMD algorithm, this paper using Gilbert channel model to estimate the effective bandwidth, and adjust the sending rate by predicting the bandwidth. Finally the hybrid network model and NAT penetration are used to achieve the control network transparent. The results show that when the network congestion occurs, the system will automatically reduce the video frame rate to ensure real-time video transmission, since the RTCP feedback mechanism is added. ©2010 IEEE.
