Flexible and adjustable beam splitters, expanders/compressors and the cloak are presented based on a universal two-dimensional transformation formula for the embedded transformation optics. Nonlinear transformation results by the suggested formula under different conditions reveal several interesting phenomena and potential applications. All beam controllers are achieved by the nonlinear coordinate transformation. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.

Influence of arbitrary outside magnetic field on self-focusing of short intense laser pulse propagating in underdense and magnetized cold plasma has been studied in this paper. The outside magnetic field is set in the plane that includes y- and z-axis, and the angle between y-axis and the outside magnetic field is to be used. Results show that there is different effect on self-focusing corresponding to different angle and intensity, the larger this angle, the weaker the effect of self-focusing. The strengthening of outside magnetic field enhances the relevant effect of self-focusing. © 2009 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.

Presently, the design of magneto-elasto cable tension sensor's parameters such as sensor structure, working point and drive signal is not perfect. In order to make the sensitivity higher, the magnetic properties of ferromagnetic materials and the principle of cable force measurement based on magneto-elasto effect was discussed. A“U” shaped of single bypass closed-loop Magneto-Elasto Cable Tension Sensor was designed, then confirmed the amplitude and frequency of the drive signal, and the working point has also been determined. The results shows that while the Vp-p of the drive is 6 V, the sensitivity reached maximum, 32.470 mV/kN. Moreover, this have been proved that it runs a high degree of linearity to stress, the linearly dependent coefficient is 0.9704. ©, 2015, The Editorial Office of Chinese Journal of Sensors and Actuators. The key parts of large machinery are most worked in poor conditions, which is easy to produce stress concentration and leads to macroscopic defects. An alternating current stress measurement (ACSM) system is designed, which includes measuring sensor, DDS signal generator module, signal adjusting module, signal acquisition and processing module. The U-shaped sensor is optimized based on electromagnetic theory. According to the principle of correlation, signal adjusting module is devised. The stress measurement experiments of loading Q235 steel are carried out by the system, the laws are presented in the test, which show that ΔBx has significant change with excitation voltage, the maximum of ΔBx is only 10 mV when voltage value is 5 V, but ΔBx can reach 98 mV when voltage value is 19 V and load is 300 MPa. ΔBx has linear variation with stress in the elastic stage and increases rapidly over yield point, the change of ΔBz is small and complicated, so the ΔBz is unfit for stress assessment. The results show that an effective method for stress measurement on ferromagnetic structure is provided by the system.
