The expansion process of the expander is simulated in this paper. The influence of intermediate channel with different diameter and length is analyzed. And The length 20 mm as well as the diameter 4 mm of the intermediate channel proves optimum. The prototype is reconstructed based on the simulation result and tested on the water-water heat pump system. The test result indicates that the operation condition is improved and the expansion ratio is increased. And the efficiency of the Expander is up to 42.3%.
