In this paper, a method of modified MUSIC algorithm is presented for estimating the Direction of Arrival (DOA) for correlation signals. By reconstructing received data covariance matrix, the full rank of the covariance matrix is restored, and the diflusion from signal subspace to noise subspace is therefore suppressed. The correlativity between the incident signals is recreated. As a result, the problem of leakage estimation to correlation signal sources' DOA with MUSIC algorithm is solved. This method has good performance not only for DOA estimation of the correlation signals but also for DOA estimation of the non-correlation signals while the computational complexity does not increase obviously. The simulation tests verified the validity of the proposed algorithm. © 2013 Binary Information Press.
