Topic model is a powerful tool for the basic document or image processing tasks. In this study we introduce a novel image topic model, called Latent Patch Model (LPM), which is a generative Bayesian model and assumes that the image and pixels are connected by a latent patch layer. Based on the LPM, we further propose an image denoising algorithm namely multiple estimate LPM (MELPM). Unlike other works, the proposed denoising framework is totally implemented on the latent patch layer, and it is effective for both Gaussian white noises and impulse noises. Experimental results demonstrate that LPM performs well in representing images. And its application in image denoising achieves competitive PSNR and visual quality with conventional algorithms. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. Source

The logistics pipeline scheduling problem of oil refining process was researched in this paper. The problem has been received significant attentions in actual production process. A MILP scheduling optimization model was built by formulating the complex logistics pipeline network of oil refining process. Compared to other researches, the presented model in this paper has fewer variables and more concise constrains which can be solved more efficiently. The formulation approach also provides a basis for the further research on energy network optimization. Finally, the presented model was used to address the scheduling of a refinery. Case study shows that the obtained optimal schedule satisfies real requirements, which illustrates the model's efficiency. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. Source

Vehicle routing problem is concerned with finding optimal collection or delivery routes in a transportation network, beginning and ending at a central depot, for a fleet of vehicles to serve a set of customers under some constraints. Assuming the travel times between two customers are uncertain variables, this paper proposes an uncertain multilevel programming model for a vehicle routing problem, of which the leader’s object is to minimize the total waiting times of the customers, and the followers’ objects are to minimize the waiting times of the vehicles for the beginning moments of the customers’ time windows. The uncertain multilevel programming model is transformed into a determinacy programming model, and an intelligent algorithm is designed for solving the crisp model. © 2014 Springer Science+Business Media New York Source

Effects of modes interaction on the resistive wall mode (RWM) stability are studied. When considering the modes interaction effects, the linear growth rate of the most unstable (3, 1) mode decreases. After linear evolution, the RWM saturates at the nonlinear phase. The saturation can be attributed to flux piling up on the resistive wall. When some modes exist, the (3, 1) mode saturates at lower level compared with single mode evolution. Meanwhile, the magnetic energy of the (5, 2) mode increases correspondently, but the magnetic energy saturation level of the (2, 1) mode changes weakly. Source

Effect of equilibrium current profile on resistive wall mode stability are numerically studied. The most unstable mode with different equilibrium current profiles under fixed safety factor at plasma surface has same poloidal number and toroidal number. At same wall location, linear growth rate of (3, 1) mode of non-uniform current profile is greater than that of uniform current profile. Effect of plasma flow on resistive wall mode stability is different with different current profiles. After linear evolution, RWM saturates at nonlinear phase. Saturation can be attributed to flux piling up on resistive wall. Saturation level of non-uniform current profile is lower than that of uniform current profile. Source
