The impact force by rockfall events is the main loads for structure design such as tunnel entrances and rockfall passive mitigation mearsures. But the impact force formula are empirical or theoretical calculation methods in the case of positive impact. To solve the impact force calculation problem in case of olique impact, by systematicly comparative analysis between numerical simulation and formula calculation method in case of different impacting speed, different buffer layer thickness and different rockfall size, the authors found that numerical analysis and formula calculated results changed in the same way. And the numerical differences are within 10%. It si proved that by speed decomposition, extending the positive impact force calculation mehtod to the the oblique collision is feasible. But also for calculation of rockfall impact force beyond the scope of the formula, numerical simulation is a feasible way. © 2011 IEEE. Source

Based on the geological environment about Fuling district in Chongqing city, eight evaluating indicators on road flooding subsequently environment along the highway: geological disasters developmental condition, rainstorm intensity, flood frequency, landform condition, litho-logical condition, average annual rainfall, vegetation coverage and geological structure, have been chosen. Adopting expert system to double evaluation and using the analysis hierarchy process to confirm the weight of index, accordingly, the mathematical model of evaluation on subsequently environment is put forward. On the support of GIS, grid subsequently environmental index and township administrative division subsequently environmental index, subsequently environment is divided into 4 degrees. They are dangerous zone, high susceptible zone, middle susceptible zone and low susceptible zone of the floods subsequently environment around highway. The results of the study indicate that in the total area, dangerous zone, high susceptible zone, middle susceptible zone and low susceptible zone of road flooding are 11.89%, 41.65%, 32.20% and 14.26% respectively. The situation of road traffic in China was analyzed, and the results showed that the numbers of RTD decreased year by year, but the absolute numbers are still large. The main influence factors including human factor, vehicle factor, road factor and environmental factor were analyzed, and the results showed that human factor is the most important factor. Based on the analysis of a representative elliptic microcrack embedded in a RVE, the additional compliance tensor induced by an embedded opening/closed microcrack is derived, and that corresponding to the kinked growth of a closed elliptic microcrack is also derived by making use of its approximately equivalent simplification. The effect of the microcracks is analyzed with the Taylor's scheme by introducing an appropriate probability density function. A three-dimensional micromechanics damage model is obtained for brittle materials, assuming numerous randomly distributed elliptic microcracks and taking into account their deformation, frictional sliding, growth and kinked growth. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd.
