It has become possible enough to take telemedicine by progression of the ICT. Especially, GI-POF and 4K technology has been spread as medical solution. It is because such technology is required in order to reproduce the presence near the actual world. Telesurgery has attracted attention as a potential solution to expand telemedicine, but it has not been established as a common form of medical care. This study aim to investigate research question that whether training for visual delay can control about an obstruction by the visual delay effect on perceptual motor coordination with minute pointing. As a result, data of experiment showed tendency that high delay training method in blocked order more effective than low delay training in same order. © 2014 ICPOF.

In remote surgery, delay on video is very serious problem. Transmission delay typically occurs when the picture is compressed to reduce data size. We investigated the relation between delay of video and surgical efficiency using a simplified model. The results showed that there are significant differences in work time on each delay range about more than 400msec. © 2012 ICPOF.

An image is sharpened without generating, in frequency domain exceeding frequency component in horizontal and vertical direction, frequency component caused by sharpening carried out in horizontal and vertical direction in overlapping manner. An image processing apparatus includes: a vertical filter removing high frequency portion in vertical direction; a horizontal sharpening processing unit generating harmonic in horizontal direction containing frequency higher than frequency component in horizontal direction of the input signal; a horizontal filter removing high frequency portion in horizontal direction; and a vertical sharpening processing unit generating harmonic in vertical direction containing frequency higher than frequency component in vertical direction of the input signal, wherein a horizontal direction processing unit in which the vertical filter is disposed before the horizontal sharpening processing unit and a vertical direction processing unit in which the horizontal filter is disposed before the vertical sharpening processing unit are connected in series, or in parallel.

This real-time up-converter from HDTV to 4K with a novel Super Resolution (SR) is proposed in this paper. It creates 4K video with frequency elements higher than the Nyquist frequency of the original HDTV video. The novel SR uses non-linear signal processing to overcome the theoretical limitation of the Nyquist frequency. © 2013 Society for Information Display.
