The aim of the present paper is to study the effects of permeability variation and oscillatory suction velocity on heat and mass transfer through a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid past an infinite vertical porous non- conducting plate bounded by porous medium when the plate is subjected to a time dependent suction velocity normal to the plate in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field and heat source. The permeability of the porous medium K(t') = Kp (l + εein γ ) and the suction velocity v(t') = - vo (l + εein γ)are considered , where Vo > 0 and ε < < 1 is a positive constant. The effect of different parameters on the flow field are discussed for various numerical values of the parameters with help of graphs.

The heat and mass transfer of electrically conducting fluid through porous media over an accelerating surface subject both to power law surface temperature and power law heat flux variations with a temperature-dependent heat source in the presence of a transverse uniform magnetic field is studied. A series solution to the energy and species concentration equation in terms of Kummer's function is studied. The effect of Prandtl number and Schmidt number is studied with the help of graphs. © 2012 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

We have considered an electrically conducting fluid exhibiting the character of elastico-viscous over a porous plate. The surrounding medium is packed with a homogenous porous matrix. The effects of various physical parameters such as magnetic parameter M, elastic parameter Rc, Porosity parameter Kp and rotational parameter E, Rarefaction parameter or slip flow parameter R and temperature jump parameter y have studied with help of graphs.

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of mass transfer on three dimensional free convective flow of viscous incompressible fluid through a highly porous medium in the presence of uniform transverse magnetic field. The porous medium is bounded by infinite vertical porous plate. We have assumed here the free stream velocity to be uniform. The buoyancy effects due to mass transfer and heat transfer enhance the velocity where as Lorentz force on high Prandtl number fluid reduces it. Presence of heavier species leads to fall of concentration at all points.
