A new α-pyrone glycoside, whitmanoside A (1), along with eight known compounds, including two furanones (2, 3) and six proline-derived cyclic dipeptides (4-9), were isolated from the dried material of the leech Whitmania pigra. The structures of these compounds were established on the basis of their spectroscopic data and acid hydrolysis. Chemical investigation on the dried material of the leech Whitmania pigra has led to the isolation of three new pteridines, including two new lumazines bearing a thieno[3,2-g]lumazine skeleton, whitmanines A and B (1 and 2) and a new pterin, 5,8-dimethylleucopterin (3). A new amide (2) and a new monoterpene (6) were isolated from the seeds of Clausena lansium together with four known ones (1, 3-5). The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analyses.
