GW01 aluminum alloy is a new type of high-strength aluminum alloys researched and developed based on 6061 aluminum alloy. The effects of solid solution temperature-time, aging temperature and aging time on mechanical properties of GW01 aluminum alloy after T6 treatment were investigated by orthogonal experiment of three factors and three levels. The results show that, with the solution temperature increasing and solution time decreasing, the tensile strength, yield strength and hardness of GW01 aluminum alloy are improved greatly, and the elongation increases after a certain amount of decline. With the aging temperature increasing, the tensile strength, yield strength, hardness and elongation of GW01 aluminum alloy decrease constantly. The tensile strength, yield strength and hardness of GW01 aluminum alloy are all insensitive to aging time, which means that they only decreases a little with aging time extending. The elongation increases with aging time extending. The good mechanical properties of GW01 aluminum alloy pipe are obtained after T6 treatment process of (510 ℃, 3 h, water quenching)+(170 ℃, 18 h, air cooling). ©, 2015, Central South University of Technology.
