We study the comb-like scattering response of cylindrical multilayered plasmonic nanostructures. Through oxide semiconductors with different doping levels, the comb-like scattering made up of multiple Fano resonances can be achieved with enough scattering excursion. Each sharp Fano resonance is associated with a degenerate state between a bipolar cloaking and a bipolar resonant scattering. When the semiconductor shell is thin enough, the scattering response is independent of the core and background materials, and even the size of the nanostructure under quasi-static conditions. The physical mechanism of the proposed comb-like device is explained by using full-wave electromagnetic simulation. Moreover, the scattering cross section of the device with a considerable thickness can exhibit reliable comb-like scattering under different thicknesses and material parameters, which is suitable for optical tagging applications. © 2017 IOP Publishing Ltd.

Within the validity of the first-order Born approximation, a group of reciprocal relations are derived for light from Young's pinholes scattering upon a spatially quasi-homogeneous (QH) medium. It is shown that the spectral degree of coherence (SDOC) of the scattered field is proportional to the Fourier transform of the strength of the scattering potential, and the spectral density of the scattered field is proportional to the Fourier transform of the normalized correlation coefficient of the scattering potential. By considering a particular case where the correlation function of the QH medium obeys the Gaussian distribution, we obtain the far-zone spectral density and SDOC of the scattered field which satisfy the derived reciprocal relations. Compared with previous reciprocal relations for scattering, our relations additionally introduce Young's pinhole parameter that characterizes the geometry of Young's pinholes. © 2017 Astro Ltd.

Based on the existing load balancing algorithm, aiming at the hotspot data accessed in P2P systems, a load balancing algorithm for heterogeneous P2P systems using mobile agent is proposed, which effectively balances loads of peers distributed among P2P systems with the help of autonomous agent called Mobile Agent. Experimental data shows that the algorithm greatly reduces the communication costs, accelerates load balancing speed of the system, and improves the system throughput. © 2011 IEEE.

Fish skin mucus has recently been recognized to be a potential source of antimicrobial peptides, which provides the first line of defense against invading pathogens. This study reports the purification and characterization of a novel linear antimicrobial peptide, pelteobagrin, from the skin mucus of yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco, Richardson). Pelteobagrin is 20 amino acids in length (GKLNLFLSRLEILKLFVGAL) and shows no clear homology with any known bioactive peptides. MALDI-TOF MS indicated the molecular mass of the purified peptide was 2244.4. Da, which is in good agreement with pelteobagrin's predicted molecular weight of 2244.8. Da. Pelteobagrin exhibited antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungi, and the activity was relatively salt-insensitive as it was not affected by NaCl concentrations of up to 137. mM. Moreover, pelteobagrin displayed no hemolytic activity to rabbit red blood cells. Transmission electron microscopy suggested that pelteobagrin might kill bacteria via acting on both the cell wall and the cytoplasmic membrane of bacteria. These results suggest that pelteobagrin might be involved in the innate defense system in yellow catfish. © 2010 Elsevier Inc.

Power grid crisis happening at home and abroad warns the urgency of power grid crisis management. It is necessary to research on online intelligent decision-making system of power-grid security based on data mining. This paper studies the status of foreign online intelligent decision-making system of power-grid security and the concrete application of foreign online intelligent decision-making system of power-grid security. Based on advanced data mining technology, by online updating safety limit-rules and automatically digging out the running rules, the safe limit values are in line with actual condition of power-grid, dispatchers can adjust the grid by running this limit and can obtain a larger cross-section delivery power-flow. In such a way, it not only can ease the power shortage situation of the system, but also improve poor power transmission ability, and produce economic benefits. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Texture features of images are calculated for recognition of pixel sets in the images as one category among multiple candidate categories. For example, wavelet transformation is applied to obtain a wavelet vector. Via analyzing components of the wavelet vector, one pixel set may be recognized as part of an architecture object or a natural plant object. In addition, line segments within the pixel sets may be calculated and their statistics result may be used for recognizing different objects.

The image is divided into a plurality of pixel sets. Expected values of each pixel sets with a ceiling distribution function, a vertical object distribution function and a ground distribution function are calculated. The expected values of each pixel set in the ceiling distribution function, the vertical object distribution function and the ground distribution function are compared to determine whether each pixel set belongs to a ceiling object, a vertical object or a ground object.

A method is provided for classifying pixels in an image into super pixels that may be executed in one or more than one electronic devices. Seed pixels are pixels selected from the image. Color distances of a color space similar to human vision perception between the seed pixels and proximal pixels are calculated. The proximal pixels are pixels located proximally to corresponding seed pixels. Geographic distances are also computed for two pixels and the geographic distances are combined with the color distances as a reference for classifying pixels into super pixels.
