Dense transparent glass ceramics containing BaGdF5 and BaLu2F8 nanocrystals were prepared from the Tb3+-activated SiO2-B2O3-BaF2-Lu2O3-Gd2O3 oxyfluoride scintillating glasses by thermal treatment technology. Glass structure was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron micrograph (SEM); the optical properties including transmission, luminescent properties excited under both ultraviolet light and X-ray excitation, and the decay times of the glass and glass ceramics were also investigated. The coexistence of BaGdF5 and BaLu2F8 nanocrystals in the transparent glass ceramics was confirmed by the XRD results, which plays a key role in the improvement of scintillation performance. The density of glass ceramics is higher compared with the precursor glass, and it increases with the increasing temperature of heat treatment. Moreover, a blue-shift in the excitation spectra and the decreasing decay times of Tb3+ ions are obviously observed in the glass and glass ceramics with the increasing heat treatment temperature. Compared with the precursor glass, the enhanced emission intensity of Tb3+ ions in the glass ceramics is associated with the increasing energy transfer efficiency from Gd3+ to Tb3+ ions, which is due to the precipitation of BaGdF5 and BaLu2F8 nanocrystals in glass ceramics. In addition, the energy transfer efficiency from Gd3+ to Tb3+ ions was also discussed by the stretched exponential function. © 2014 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Bismuth vanadate (Bi2VO5.5) thin films were fabricated on indium-doped tin oxide (ITO)-coated glass substrates by chemical solution method combined with a rapid thermal annealing process. The structure of the films was characterized with X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy. The Bi2VO5.5 films annealed at 600 °C showed a good match with the ITO coated glass substrates and had a desired perovskite structure with high (00l) preferred orientation. The spherical grains with a homogeneous distribution of high crystallinity and packing density were observed. Optical properties of the Bi2VO5.5 thin films were studied by Raman spectra and the lattice vibration modes of the films were obtained. A low frequency dielectric dispersion was observed in the films. Dielectric constant and loss was about 75 and 0.076 at 10kHz, respectively. The ac conductivity obeyed Jonscher's universal power law, which may be originated a possible hopping mechanism for Bi2VO5.5 thin films. The complex impedance traces revealed material dielectric dispersion nature and the presence of grain effects in the films.

A novel ligand, diethylenetriamine-N,N′,N″-tri(acetyl-p-hydroxybenzoyl hydrazine)-N,N″-bisacetic acid, and its three soluble non-ion transition metal complexes, ML· nH2O (M = Mn, n = 4; M = Co, Ni, n = 2) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivities, 1H NMR, FAB-MS, TG-DTA analysis, and IR methods. In addition, relaxivity of complexes are determined, The relaxivity (R1) of MnL, CoL, NiL, and Gd(DTPA)2- used as control are 6.33, 2.71, 2.60, and 4.34L·mmol-1·s-1, respectively. The spin-lattice relaxivity of MnL are larger than that of Gd(DTPA)2-. The results showed that complex of MnL may be a potential MRI contrast agent with high spin-lattice relaxivity, good solubility, low osmotic pressure due to non-ion complex. A novel complex, Tb(III)L2(NO3)3 (L is 4, 4′-dimethyl-2, 2′-bipyridine), has been synthesized. Structural analysis was carried out on the basis of X-ray diffraction data, and the title complex is a mononuclear structure which crystallized in Orthorhombic, space group Aba2, with a=14.9374(17) Å, b=18.325(3) Å, c=10.0586(12) Å, α=ß=γ=90°, Z=4, Dc=1.721 Mg/m3, V=2753.3(6) Å-3. Exposed to ultraviolet radiation of 321 nm, the title complex produces strong green light, and it can be a prospective green light material. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

As a practical scheme carrying out the high performance computing tasks for small research groups and personal researchers, we propose a small Beowulf PC-cluster parallel system based on MPI and Windows by employing a set of PCs and 100M Ethernet. The experimental evaluations on the classical case of computing π show that the system has satisfactory speedup and parallel efficiency. Owing to the 100M Ethernet which has less bandwidth and more communication delay, the speedup and parallel efficiency will come down with increasing working nodes, and a more excellent high speed network should be build. © 2010 IEEE.

As the demand for global information increases significantly, multilingual corpora has become a valuable linguistic resource for applications to cross-lingual information retrieval and natural language processing. A Web-based English-Chinese bilingual parallel corpus of automatic Construction Technology solved the shortage of bilingual English-Chinese Parallel Corpus. First, some web pages which may be set translation dig of from a particular source, and then from the web pages focused on the external characteristics according to the similarity to extract the candidate web pages in parallel pairs, use of content-based methods on parallel web pages for each of these candidates assessed. In the assessment of the candidate pairs of parallel web pages, this paper design ECVS models of bilingual text similarity assessed based on the classic vector space model. © 2010 IEEE.

The design of wireless calling system services is using STC89C52RC microcontroller as core in restaurant. The system is based on infrared remote controlling module, which sends the customer information to the client under table, the client to process the information, and then sends information to the service by nRF2401 radio frequency module. After receiving the information service will show the needs of customer by termination module. So it is providing the best "Efficient, Quick" Service for customer. The system has been proved to be of high accuracy, easy in operating and high reliability on site. ©2010 IEEE.

The water level and flow of middle and small rivers has been achieved online-monitoring. However, the sediment detection is still in the manual observation. We propose the sediment online-detection system of in flow-water based on image analysis. We capture the underwater images by special camera device, and then transmit images to monitoring centers through channel. Furthermore, we implement special video capture card to preprocess, segment, identify the hydrology image and calculate the sediment of sample. The characteristic of system is image segmentation algorithm based on a wavelet level Markov model, the multi-direction one-dimensional wavelet transformation microscopic image denoising algorithm. We build the preliminary model based on the feature analysis of image. The experiment shows that sediment detection system could get the sediment hydrological of middle and small rivers online and provides a theoretical basis for the sediment detection. © 2010 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

A novel ligand (H3L), diethylenetriamine-N,N″-bis(acetyl- o-hydroxybenzoyl hydrazide)-N, N′, N″-triacetic acid and its four rare earth (La, Eu, Gd, Tb) complexes have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductivities, 1H NMR spectra, FAB-MS, TG-DTA analysis, and IR spectra. In addition, relaxivity (R1) of complexes are determined. The relaxivity of LaL, EuL, GdL, TbL, and Gd(DTPA)2- used as a control are 0.94, 2.79, 6.39, 1.59, and 4.34 L·mmol-1·s-1, respectively. The spin-lattice relaxivity of GdL is larger than that of Gd(DTPA)2-. The results showed that complex of GdL may be a potential magnetic resonance imaging contrast agent. © 2013 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

A novel ligand, diethylenetriamine-N,N″-bis(acetyl-m-hydroxybenzoyl hydrazine)-N, N′, N″-triacetic acid (H3L), was synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivities, 1H NMR, FAB-MS, TG-DTA analysis, and IR methods. Its complex of Gd(III) holding promise of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) was synthesized, and relaxivity of GdL and Gd(DTPA)2- used as compare were determined in water solution, respectively. The relaxivity of GdL (R 1 = 6.02 L·mmol-1·s-1) was larger than that of Gd(DTPA)2-(R1 = 4.34L·mmol -1·s-1). The relaxivity of GdL had also been investigated in human serum albumin (HSA) solution, the relaxivity of GdL was enhanced from 6.02 L·mmol-1·s-1 in water solution to 7.10 L·mmol-1·s-1 in HSA solution. In addition, thermodynamics stability constant of GdL complex was determined. The results showed that GdL is a prospective MRI contrast agent, although the thermodynamic stability constant of GdL complex(KGdL = 1019.92) was a little less than that of Gd(DTPA) 2-(KGd-DTPA = 1020.73). © 2013 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
