Nano-Y2O3 and nano-CeO2 of different weight ratio mixed with deionizing water were doped into MoO2 powder by liquid-solid doping method. The diameter 1.80 and 0.18 mm alloy wires of Mo-0.3Y, Mo-0.3Ce, and Mo-0.15Y-0.15Ce were prepared through reduction, isostatic pressing, sintering, and drawing. Tensile properties, second phase microstructure and fracture surface appearance of wires were analyzed. The better refining effect for Mo alloy powder can be gotten after two kinds of nanoparticle oxide doped into MoO2 than only one doped. Nano-Y 2O3 and nano-CeO2 have different influences on sintering process. For nano-CeO2, the constraining effect of grain growth focuses on the initial sintering stage, nano-Y2O3 plays refining grains roles in the later densification stage. Nano-Y 2O3 is undistorted and keeps intact in the process of drawing; and nano-CeO2 is elongated and broken into parts in the drawing direction. The strengthening effect of nano-Y2O3 and nano-CeO2 keeps the finer grains and superior tensile properties for Mo-0.15Y-0.15Ce wire. © 2013 The Nonferrous Metals Society of China and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

The effects of deformation and heat treatment of molybdenum target on the microstructure, surface roughness and crystalline form of sputtered film were studied. The results show that crystallization of film sputtered by target with deformation ratio over 80% is better than that of below 80%. When the sputtering films thickness is the same, the sheet resistance of sputted film increase with increasing deformation of Mo target. The films sputtered by Mo target annealed at 1 100℃ have the lowest roughness, the finest surface particles and obvious grain orientation. ©, 2014, Beijing Research Institute of Powder Metallurgy. Three kinds of molybdenum powder with different agglomerations were pressed, sintered and rolled into plates. Metallographic and texture analysis of sintered plates and rolled plates were carried out. Conclusions can be made: sintered plate made of blocky molybdenum powder has more powerful texture than scattered molybdenum powder. The particle size distribution is normal and unimodal, the distribution is narrower, sintered texture is the more isotropic. Products with different agglomeration states have similar texture. Plates made of blended molybdenum powder have more complex and stronger texture. The texture of plates made of blocky molybdenum powder can be eliminated more easily by annealing.

Four kinds of Mo targets with different microstructures were sputtered by the same sputtering line under the same sputtering process. Microstructures (face and fractured cross-section) of sputtered films were analyzed with SEM, and the orientation of crystals and square resistance were measured with XRD and four-probe array method, respectively. Influence of Mo target's microstructure on deposition rate and square resistance of the sputtered film were discussed. Results show that the sputtering film's morphology of different Mo-targets is rarely different. When Mo targets are with 80% fine grains under 50 μm, the uniformity of sputtering film's thickness and resistance are satisfied. The preferred orientation of Mo sputtered film is mostly (110). The target microstructures have little effect on sputtering film crystals' orientation. When the Mo target's grain size is finer and the area rate of grain boundary is higher, the sputtering film has faster deposition velocity and the sputtering film's thickness is larger. The thickness reduction of sputtering target is more homogeneous, which raises the utilization rate of sputtering targets. Copyright © 2012, Northwest Institute for Nonferrous Metal Research. Mo powder was pressed into rods by cold isostatic pressing and sintered by multi-function furnace. Physical and chemical properties of sintering samples at different temperature were tested such as chemical elements, density, area shrinkage ratio and fracture surface morphology. Through the investigation we can draw the conclusions as following: Mo powder softens at 1353K. The temperature of beginning metallization is 1833K. In the range of 1713K∼1953K, impurity contents such as C and O drop down fast and density increases sharply. When sintering temperature rises from 1833K to 1953K, the grains of sintering rods are fine. When the sintering temperature surpasses 2073K, the grains grow up very fast. The sintering shrinkage ratio enlarges quickly.
