0Cr18Ni10Ti stainless steel was coated by hot-dipping in a molten aluminum bath. The high temperature oxidation behaviors of the hot-dipped aluminized steel and 0Cr18Ni10Ti steel were tested at 900°C and 1000°C for 24 h using thermo gravimetric analyzer. The morphology was studied by SEM and the phase composition was characterized by EDS. The results of high temperature oxidation test show that oxidation kinetics of the hot-dipped aluminized steel and 0Cr18Ni10Ti steel basically accorded to parabolic rate laws at 900°C and 1000°C. The oxidation rates of the hot-dipped aluminized steel are 2. 419×10-12 mg/cm2·h and 1.483×10-13 mg/cm2·h at 900°C and 1000°C, respectively. θ-Al2O3 is formed on the hot-dipped aluminized steel at 900°C. θ-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3 are formed on hot-dipping aluminum at 1000°C for 24 h. With oxidation time increasing, θ-Al2O3 transformed into α-Al2O3 at 1000°C. Source
