In order to study the suppression effect of increasing concrete shrinkage induced by limestone powder, the aliphatic water reducer and polycarboxylate superplasticizer was used in experiments about effect of limestone powder content on concrete shrinkage. The results showed that the concrete shrinkage increased as the limestone powder content increasing. Comparing to the aliphatic water reducer, the polycarboxylate superplasticizer showed obviously effect on concrete shrinkage suppression. Besides, the polycarboxylate superplasticizer can reduce the sensitivity of concrete cracking. The polycarboxylate superplasticizer using in concrete can effectively reduce the emission amount and environmental pollution in the production process of artificial sand, simultaneously, this is helpful to improve the volume stability of concrete. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Effects of fly ash and silica fume on the strength development of basalt fiber reinforced cement mortar strength were investigated. Influences of combined addition of fly ash and silica fume on the corrosion resistance of basalt fiber in the cement mortar were studied. The results show that the early flexural strength of cement-based material increases with the addition of the basalt fiber, while the late reinforcing effect reduces and even becomes adverse causing the cement matrix strength to decrease. The reduction of the late flexural strength of cement-based material was significantly increased with the addition of fly ash and silica fume. The studies on XRD spectrum and microstructure morphology demonstrate that the contents of Ca(OH)2 crystal and basalt fiber corrosion degree are decreased, the interfacial properties between basalt fiber and cement matrix is changed with the addition of fly ash and silica fume.

This paper mainly investigates the approximation of a global maximizer of the 1-D Monge–Kantorovich mass transfer problem through the approach of nonlinear differential equations with Dirichlet boundary. Using an approximation mechanism, the primal maximization problem can be transformed into a sequence of minimization problems. By applying the canonical duality theory, one is able to derive a sequence of analytic solutions for the minimization problems. In the final analysis, the convergence of the sequence to a global maximizer of the primal Monge–Kantorovich problem will be demonstrated. © 2016, Springer International Publishing.

A kind of ecological barrier with good effect on noise reduction and landscaping is introduced. Effect on noise reduction of ecological barrier and vertical sound barrier is compared by the Raynoise software. The noise insertion loss of ecological sound barrier is measured experimentally. Simulation of the acoustic software RAYNOISE shows that: in the acoustic shadow zone, noise reduction effect of ecological sound barrier is better than normal barrier for about 0 to 4.63dB especially below a height of 4 m; for higher than 4 m insertion loss of ecological sound barrier is greater than the vertical-type but not more than 1dB. The experiment shows that in 63 to 500Hz frequency insertion loss is about 0 to 28dB, which gradually increases with increasing frequency; when frequency is greater than 500Hz insertion loss increases no more, maintaining at 20dB or so.

The effect of the types, volume percentage and particle size of aggregates on thermal expansion coefficient of concrete was investigated in this research. Experimental results indicated that the type of the aggregates had remarkable effect on concrete thermal expansion coefficient, while particle size of the aggregates had some obvious effect. The thermal expansion coefficient of concrete increased as the volume percentage of the aggregates decreased. It is of crucial importance to select the suitable type and increase properly the volume percentage of the aggregates in order to improve the concrete volume stability. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
