According to the characteristics of the aldehyde products produced by hydroformylation of butene, the complete separation process for normal- and iso-valeraldehydes (CSPV) and separation process of mixed valeraldehydes (SPMV) were proposed by using PENG-ROB property method in Aspen Plus simulation software. The main separation parameters were optimized, and then the processes were also simulated. The simulation results indicate that the two processes can meet the requirements of separation, and the main operating parameters for distilltaion are also obtained. The energy consumption of SPMV is lower about 50% than that of CSPV. Proposed process scheme can be used to design valeraldehyde pilot plant as a theoretical basis.
