A new method for benzoyl peroxide detection was proposed. It was based on the principle that benzoyl peroxide oxidize ferrous iron to ferric ion, then color reaction between ferric ion and thiocyanate in ethanol and acid system can be quantified. Experimental conditions of the benzoyl peroxide detection method including absorption curve, reaction medium, acid content, reaction temperature, reaction time, ferrous iron content, thiocyanate content and interfering substances were studied in the research. Under the optimum conditions, the linear range of benzoyl peroxide concentration was 0.1~15 mg/L, with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9994 and a lower detection limit of 0.025 mg/L. The apparent molar adsorptivity of the coordination complex was 2.136 5×104 L·mol-1·cm-1. The recovery was at the range of 97.2% to 104.4% by this method to detect commercial flour samples.

Rural household energy consumption is an important component of the national total energy consumption. This has major implications for rural society, economy, and the environment. Jiangsu province is located in the economically developed coastal area, and assuming further social and economic development in its rural regions, commercial energy will become increasingly essential for rural households. By studying and analyzing change across time and region in southern, central and northern Jiangsu, we hope to contribute to the understanding of the change in rural household energy consumption in both China and the developing countries in general. Using questionnaires, household energy consumption and related problems were investigated in nine typical counties in Jiangsu province to show the large differences in the level of per capita rural household consumption and the structure of useful energy consumption in the typical areas. The current household consumption per capita is 396.93 kgce in a typical rural areas, with straw consumption contributing 38.73%, and electricity 32.96%. The structural differences of energy consumption and the percentage of commercial energy of useful heat in southern, central and northern Jiangsu were also investigated, as was the relationship between energy consumption and household net income. The study should help in building a balanced system of energy demand and supply and utilizeing biomass resources on a large scale.

The problem of face classification is essentially a nonlinear subspace classification problem. The features of different face samples lie on different nonlinear subspaces. If the most representative samples of each subspace are selected as the training set, we can enhance the reliability of the classification, as well as reduce the computation. In this paper, a manifold based active learning algorithm, called Laplacian Transductive Optimal Design (LTOD), is presented to select the most representative samples. LTOD reconstructs each sample by the graph Laplacian matrix to make sure that the reconstructed samples and the original samples share the same manifold structure. Then, the samples which can be used to best reconstruct the whole sample set are selected as the training set. The experimental results on Yale face database have demonstrated the effectiveness of our method. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Combined with the embedded processor LM3S1607 with ultrasonic sensor, an intelligent ultrasonic distance measuring device is designed in this article. The 32-bit embedded microprocessor of the ARM core chip LM3S1607 is used. Sending and receiving modules are made up of two pieces of P89LPC938 microcontroller and ultrasonic sensors. Communication architecture of upper and lower computer is formed via the I2C serial bus to achieve two-way ultrasonic distance measuring. Temperature measurement of ultrasonic ranging system is realized through the high-precision temperature sensor LM75A. Ultrasonic sound velocity is compensated to improve the measurement accuracy. Meanwhile the distance measuring device has the function of LCD displaying and voice broadcast test distance. Interface circuit and application program are designed and developed. The design method of two-way ultrasonic range finder is also introduced.

As a result of bad real-time character of detecting water quality by traditional method, in this paper, we illustrate a new remote water quality system which is designed based on WSN, and consists of wireless sensor nodes, sink nodes and a monitoring center. All nodes are built by CC2530, designed in lower power mode, and organized by Zigbee network to gather water quality parameters such as: PH, DO and turbidity. GPRS module, which is combined in the sink node, is responsible to send managed data to monitoring center which analyses, process and display the water quality parameters to users. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Sports not only has competition functions, but also is the best choice to build one's body. And meanwhile, sports activities have certain curative effects on mental diseases, which have very important impacts on psychological health. The paper utilized correlations analysis, establishes correlation analysis model between physical exercises and students psychological health, and analyzes current stage students understanding on sports health, and gets conclusion: physical exercises have important impacts on students psychological health, Chinese physical education course contents are relative traditional, their understanding on physiological health knowledge, psychological health are not deepen enough, students rarely participate in physical exercises. Secondly, based on correlation analysis, analyze physical exercises and chemical medicine curative effects on common depression, anxiety, terror, obsession these four mental diseases, utilize fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods to make comprehensive evaluation, compare physical exercises and chemical medicine curative effects, and get that physical exercises effects are better. © Trade Science Inc.
