New low pass filters with ultra-wide stopband by using dumbbell defected ground structures (DGSs) with size reduction are presented in this paper. Non-uniform DGSs etched under a stepped-impedance microstrip line are developped to get better filter performances of transmission zeros, enhanced return loss and ultra-wide stopband that is beneficial to higher order harmonic suppression. A comparison of low pass filters between standard 50-ohm microstrip line and stepped-impedance microstrip line has been evaluated, respectively. The proposed low pass filter with non-uniform dumbbell DGSs and stepped-impedance microstrip line has better performances than that with uniform DGSs and uniform microstrip line, and simultaneously, DGS units are decreased and which brings a smaller circuit size. Aim: To detect pathological brain conditions early is a core procedure for patients so as to have enough time for treatment. Traditional manual detection is either cumbersome, or expensive, or time-consuming. We aimto offer a systemthat can automatically identify pathological brain images in this paper.Method: We propose a novel image feature, viz., Fractional Fourier Entropy (FRFE), which is based on the combination of Fractional Fourier Transform(FRFT) and Shannon entropy. Afterwards, theWelch's t-test (WTT) andMahalanobis distance (MD) were harnessed to select distinguishing features. Finally, we introduced an advanced classifier: Twin support vector machine (TSVM). Results: A 10 × K-fold stratified cross validation test showed that this proposed "FRFE +WTT + TSVM" yielded an accuracy of 100.00%, 100.00%, and 99.57% on datasets that contained 66, 160, and 255 brain images, respectively. Conclusions: The proposed "FRFE +WTT + TSVM" method is superior to 20 state-of-the-art methods. © 2015 by the authors. Source

This study aimed to investigate the effects of concentration, intestinal section and borneol on the intestinal absorption of salvianolic acids. The experiment not only studied the intestinal absorption properties of three concentrations of rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid B and salvianolic acid A at duodenum, jejunum and ileum, but also of salvianolic acids compatible with borneol at different concentrations using single-pass intestinal perfusion model in rat with phenol red as the marker. The results showed that salvianolic acids was stable under weak-acid condition and affected by metabolism enzyme; The P eff and K a significantly different among three concentrations of rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B, whose intestinal absorption were saturated in high concentration, suggesting that the transport mechanisms of rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B were similar to active transport or facilitated diffusion; However, there was inconspicuousness in the P eff and K a of salvianolic acid A at different concentrations, whose absorption was not saturated in high concentration, indicating that the transport mechanisms of salvianolic acid A was passive diffusion; The P eff and K a in the ileum obviously higher than those in the duodenum and jejunum, namely the ileum was the best absorption section; When concentration of borneol increased, the enhancing effect of intestinal absorption of salvianolic acids increased, but significantly decreased when borneol increased to some degree. The enhancing effect of midium borneol concentration was the optimum. This implied that borneol can enhance the intestinal absorption of salvianolic acids, and the capacity of enhancing effect was influenced by the concentration of borneol. Source

This study is focused on the effect of electroslag remelting (ESR) on microstructure and mechanical properties of TiC particle reinforced 304 stainless steel synthesized by in situ reaction in vacuum introduction melting (VIM). Microstructure observations revealed that applying ESR process resulted in a more uniform distribution of TiC particles with reduced size, however, a slight aggregation with large TiC particles existed in the VIM ingot was found. Additionally, some tiny TiC precipitates with nano-scale were observed in the microstructure of the TiC reinforced steel after ESR process. Introduction of in situ TiC particles into the 304 stainless steel caused a significant increase of tensile properties, creep properties and wear resistance, but a decrease in ductility. Moreover, further improvement on tensile properties, creep properties, wear resistance as well as the ductility of the steel were obtained by using ESR process successfully. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.
