To study the influence of surface fatigue cracks on the static strength of circular tubular T-joints, experimental tests on four full-scale circular tubular T-joints are carried out. Firstly, surface fatigue cracks are prefabricated by fatigue test in three circular tubular T-joints. Thereafter, experimental tests on the static strength of all the circular tubular T-joints with and without fatigue cracks under axial tension are carried out. Through the comparative analysis, the influences of the fatigue crack on the failure mode and the static strength of circular tubular T-joints are concluded. © Wei and Song; Licensee Bentham Open.

To increase the service life of the die in blanking stainless steel plate, this paper tries to optimize the blanking die. By adopting reasonable lifting and pushing structure in the die to realize up-put the concave and down-lie the convex which adds the sharpening repair times of concave-convex die. The study finds that the die is easy to operate and maintain and has the character of repeating sharpening repair after one-time heat treatment, which can greatly prolong the die's service life and is suitable to bulk blank stainless steel plate. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The weight minimum and drive efficiency maxima1 of screw conveyor were considered as double optimizing objects in this paper. The mathematical model of the screw conveyor has been established based on the theory of the machine design, and the genetic algorithm was adopted to solving the multi-objective optimization problem. The results show that the mass of spiral shaft reduces 13.6 percent, and the drive efficiency increases 6.4 percent because of the optimal design based on genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm application on the screw conveyor optimized design can provided the basis for designing the screw conveyor. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

As to improve bridges' seismic performance, horizontal earthquake was isolated at the bottom of piers. With one pier system as the object of study, adopting nonlinear time history analysis analyzed the un-isolation system, the traditional isolation system and the new isolation system's seismic performance especially when the actual earthquake was different from the design earthquake, in which the new isolation system was based on rolling balls. Results shows, as for the new isolation system, the internal force is independent of earthquake accelerations and earthquake periods, therefore, sympathetic vibration will not exist, and the internal force is always too small to destroy the system. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper, based on an analysis into the approaches, at home and abroad, of the conveyor belt joint monitoring, provides an in-depth investigation into the causes and conditions of the belt conveyor tension overload and fractures, finding that the fractures of the joint are random, and are among the most frequently occurring problems, along with steel-cordbelt conveyor belt deviation, drum slipping, roller life, fire, and the steel-cored belt longitudinal tearing etc Therefore, based on the fact that the joint length can be measured by detecting its tension with an senor, this paper investigates the technology of belt joint monitoring by means of the F-L curve, so as to provide an early warning. This method the system practice shows that: the technology has good application value in production and application, has the vital significance to the enterprise safety production. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Miners unsafe behavior is due to human unsafe behavior and interaction of matter produced unsafe behavior. In this paper, the assignment method for column joint analysis of the questionnaire drawn: The safety of workers and trade unions act age, educational level, personality traits, work experience and their sense of safety has correlation with the risk of the work environment to develop codes of conduct and corporate science-related, propose appropriate measures to tackle the problem. China's coal output in 2000 from 12.25 tons in 2012 increased to 36.5 tons, the annual coal output growth of 15.78%. But the coal output growth caused casualties occur frequently, the total coal production accounted for the world total 1/4, while the number of casualties is higher than the sum of the coal mine accident casualties other coal-producing country, the main reason is that human error. Work has its special properties in coal mine production line workers, the subject they are productive activity, and is the main excitation accident. Personnel errors has become an important source of danger of accidents, on the one hand, it lies in internal factors, such as age, physical, physiological, psychological, their safety awareness effect; on the other hand it lies in the external factors of workers in the work, such as the environment, enterprises of staff supervision, the completeness of machinery and equipment effects of the above factors, induced to have accidents tend to internal factors, external factors, individual, forming a human behavior set beam. Therefore, prevention and reduction caused by "human" factors of accidents has become an important issue to be solved in coal mine enterprise. © 2014 Taylor & Francis Group.

In order to improve the structure mechanics performance of assembly body of conical pick, the finite element method was taken to analyse assembly body of conical pick based on rock cutting theory, and the distortion law of stress and displacement of carbide tip, pick arbor and pick holder were obtained. The results show that the maximum stress appearing in pick carbide tip and its weld site is 371MPa, maximum stress of pick holder appearing in its weld site is 157MPa. Consequently, the quality of the weld should be ensured in processing and manufacturing or welding installation to reduce the performance of carbide tip and pick holder' drop. The maximum displacement of assembly body of conical pick is 1.14mm, which has little influence on the structure mechanics performance of assembly body. The research results could provide some guidance for designing, manufacturing or welding the assembly body of conical pick. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Environmental rubber concrete is a new building material, which can improve the construction quality of road drainage tube in road engineering and achieve effect of keeping warm and radial anti deformation. In order to study the physical properties of environmental rubber concrete, we use methods of experiment and numerical simulation to test mechanical parameters and effect of thermal insulation of concrete. Through the experiment we obtain the relation between ultimate bearing capacity and temperature. We use the software of ANSYS to secondary development on c numerical calculation, and establish a mathematical model of road drainage tube. Through the numerical simulation we get the temperature distribution and the radial strain nephogram of environmental rubber concrete.
