Based on Quasi-sliding Mode Control (QSMC), a new control strategy of active power filter (APF) is proposed to reduce the chattering problem with traditional sliding mode control method. The proposed scheme aims to limit the system trajectory to a certain domain of ideal sliding mode and then realize the processing of the non-linear part in sliding mode control. It can decrease chattering and at the same time guarantee strong robustness in the system. The principle and control method of the corresponding controller are presented respectively. Furthermore, the existence, accessibility and stability of the controller system are analyzed. Simulation results demonstrate that with simplicity and quick response, the control algorithm provides excellent performance in robustness against external noise disturbances and parameter perturbation as well as in jitter suppression.
