A superhydrophobic textile for biomedical applications is designed using chitosan-based hydrophobic nanoparticles. The fabrication of nanoparticles is based on the electrostatic interaction between the amine group of chitosan and the negatively charged fluoroanion. The coating is formed by spraying the nanoparticles dispersion over the textile surface, while the complementary hydrophobization by functionalized perfluorodecylsilane leads to substitution of hydrophilic surface groups by hydrophobic ones. The crucial role of the relative number of fluoroanions per elementary unit of chitosan in both surface wettability and durability of coatings in contact with aqueous media is demonstrated. Medical cotton is well wetted by water. A strategy to fabricate a chitosan-based superhydrophobic coating for medical textiles, stable against long-term contact with an aqueous medium is proposed. Nowadays, experiment and science research on apparel pressure are mainly about knitting wear which is the most closed to human body compared with other garment species. Yet there exists many tightly fitting styles in woman appeal using woven materials that might do harm to human body than the flexible knitting. In this article, we took experiment on western and eastern woman body using ELF system through modern western medicine and ergonomics angle concerning woman dress as the basic categories. 26 points where pressure will be strengthen while daily movement happened were tested, in this way we described the human pressure sensitivity through building the map. Finally, we compared it with traditional Chinese medicine theory. Thus the phenomenon how human body feels pressure was analysis through two perspective of medicine. Moreover, the result of woman body comfortable feelings in different points would be helpful in clothing design and structure building progress of woman apparel. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. A simple method to design the superhydrophobic anti-bacterial textile for biomedical applications was developed. For the coating formulation the spraying of nanoparticles dispersion over the textile sample was applied, allowing the way to get multiscale textured layer on a top of cotton fabric. The anti-bacterial functionality of coating is supported by using chitosan-based nanoparticles. In our approach the fabrication of nanoparticles was based on electrostatic interaction between amine group of chitosan and negatively charged fluoroanion. It was demonstrated that the relative number of fluoroanions per elementary unit of chitosan plays the crucial role in the structure of aggregates in the coating and its wettability as well as in durability of coatings in contact with aqueous media. © 2012 Elsevier B.V.
