The article focuses on the problem of polycrystalline diamond cutter (PDC) cutters' overlapping influence on rock reaction force. This study proposed a static force balance model, based on the model of Wojtanowicz and Kuru (1993). The innovation of this model is considering two types of friction forces, acting on the contact frontal surface and the lateral surface of a PDC cutter, respectively. Additionally, the proposed model assumes a rock reaction force direction not orthogonal to the contact surface of a cutter but parallel to the crack propagation direction and similar to the rock heterogeneity direction. Numerical study was provided for a new and a worn PDC cutter to define a rock reaction force depending on options of adjacent cutters' placement (cutters' shape, cutter sizes, bake rake angle, side rake angle, etc.). Two main tendencies were observed: increasing of lateral plot of a cutter decreases rock reaction force, and deviation between directions of cutting force and crack propagation is an extremely significant factor and affects rock reaction force magnitude. © 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

Purpose: Substantiation of the system of flood preventive measures and reduction of flood intensity. Methodology: In our research, we used systematic, statistical and analytical methods for study of cause and effect relationships of flood forming and substantiation of anti-floods preventive measures system. Findings: We provided characteristics of natural (precipitations, topography) and anthropogenic (reduction of forest area, decrease in water accumulation capacity of the territory) factors causing floods in the Carpathian region of Ukraine. Also, there were substantiated measures of flood prevention and management that form an integral functionally interrelated bioengineering system in the basin. This system is formed on the principles of theory of "manageable complicity" and is considered as totality of organizational and preventive (biological and engineering-technical) measures that create a new totality and provide for decrease in volume, absorption and accumulation of surface slope flow, increase in water accumulation capacity of territory, and, as a result, reduction of maximal flow module and water level in the rivers. Originality: We substantiated the adaptive landscape principle of bioengineering system formation that provides for regulation of surface slope flow in the basins of the rivers. Practical value: Principles of territory organization, optimization of lands structure and their spacial distribution in the river basins were developed with consideration of landscape altitude areas, while forest land improvement and engineering and hydrotechnical engineering measures can be used as methodological grounds in case of anti-flood system development in the basins of the rivers Tysa, Prut, Dnister and their tributaries. © Prykhodko M. Purpose: Establishment of regularities of the high-altitude and exposure distribution of mudflow sites in the basins of the rivers Teresva, Tereblya, Rika, Bila and Chorna Tysa, as well as connection between the landslide and mudflow processes. Methodology: Digital terrain modeling of the basins of the rivers concerned. Spatial overlay analysis of distribution of mudflow sites, metric operations to obtain the data of the high-altitude and exposure positions and prevailing slope angles. Factor analysis identifying the direct and indirect effects of the high-altitude position of the mudflow potential sites onto mudflow formation, usage of the statistical criteria for significant characteristics selection. Graphical visualization of the influence of synthesis of the high-altitude position and slope angle onto the development of mudflows. Regression analysis of the regular connection availability between the mudflow and landslide processes. Findings: Regularities of distribution of mudflow sites according to the factor characteristics: absolute altitude, slope angle, slope exposure and availability of landslides in the basins of the rivers concerned are identified. Originality: The geoinformation modeling was used for the first time to identify the regularities of the mudflow development in relation to spatial factor characteristics for the basins of the rivers: predictor of the "absolute altitude" and revisers of the "slope angles" and "slope exposure". The histogram analysis of the high-altitude distribution of the mudflows and landslides in the basins of the rivers mentioned was used to determine the connection availability between their development and high-altitude position. Functional dependencies are presented in the form of linear and quadratic regression dependencies showing the relative contribution of the features and indicating the respective levels of significance. Practical value: The determined regularities can be used to identify potential sites of mudflow in the basins of the rivers Teresva, Tereblya, Rika, Bila and Chorna Tysa at known values of altitudes, slope angles and slope exposures and occurrence of the landslide processes on some high-altitude areas. The regression dependencies may be considered when carrying out the mathematical and prognostic geoinformation modeling of the mudflow phenomena development according to the following algorithm: establishment of similar regression and functional dependencies between other factors of mudflow formation, their combination according to the regularities shown in the article, forecasting of the mudflow hazards based on the formed multifactor multiple model. © Chepurna T. A mathematical operation model of a drill string with a vibrating mechanism at the top, which is used to eliminate sticking of the drilling tool, has been presented in this article. The resulting discrete-continual model, considering the wave processes, consists of separate sections of drill pipes with different parameters (material, cross-sectional area, external loads). This model is basis for a computer program to visualize oscillatory processes occurring in the pipe string and numeric calculation of the basic kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the studied system. The method of vibrator parameters matching provides a significant increase in the accuracy when determining forces, stresses and safety reserves in an arbitrary pipe string section and predicting sidewall sticking during oil and gas wells drilling. Recommendations are given on the selection the amplitude of disturbance and resonance frequencies for releasing of stuck pipe and prevention drill-string failure. © 2017 "OilGasScientificResearchProject" Institute. In this paper there was done the construction of semantic ground for interpretation of the queries which are generated by the operator of the technological process. The introduces theory of modification predicate queries is an formal-logical framework for description and study of the routines for updating and modification of knowledge bases, and intelligible support of decision making on such premises. We analyze general regularities of degradation of the mechanical and corrosion-mechanical properties of steels of oil and gas main pipelines and oil storage reservoirs after 28-40 years of operation. The transported oil product not only causes corrosion damages of the internal surface of pipelines and reservoirs, but also becomes a source of hydrogenation of the metal. As a result, it degrades already under the long joint action of mechanical load and hydrogen. Changes in (degradation of) the mechanical properties of the sections of a pipe or a reservoir that contact with the transported medium during operation indicate this fact. First of all, this manifests itself as embrittlement of the metal, i.e., as decreases in the plasticity and resistance to fracture. Comparison assessment of operated and nonoperated steels showed the high sensitivity of the electrochemical properties to the state of the metal, which offers prospects for the development of electrochemical methods for assessing its in-service degradation. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.

The overview about influence of factors influence shaping mode of groundwater as an example the natural component, are presented. The results of experimental example depending on temperature and precipitation, as one of the main meteorological parameters.

The INNOVER-EAST project targets five countries of the Eastern Partnership (in short, EPCs: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine) to overcome the bottlenecks of innovation and intensify the level of cooperation between research and business in the target countries. The project aims, on the one hand, to develop new skills and competences in innovation services at relevant organisations in the above countries, and, on the other hand, to contribute to the learning process on how to bridge knowledge and business with a direct focus on energy efficiency. In order to reach its objectives, the project will carry out the following activities: Facilitate networking among actors in the knowledge/ innovation value chain in order to better focus research on socio-economic needs and to help exploit research results; Identify bottlenecks of and opportunities for technology and knowledge transfer in the targeted EPCs (with special focus on start-ups, spin-offs from public research organisations and existing small businesses); Improve competencies and mutual learning by the exchange of good practices through twinning, trainings and other means of learning by the active involvement of relevant service providers; Develop and provide innovation support services for EPC stakeholders and build partnerships among relevant organisations in the Member States and Associated Countries on one side and in the targeted EPCs on the other side; Carry out policy dialogue and produce recommendations for policy makers by organising national policy workshops and international policy conferences to debate and validate the needs identified and solutions offered for more efficient innovation services. The project consortium involves experienced actors from the whole spectrum of the innovation chain to facilitate effective cooperation and mutual learning, representing 5 EU member states, 1 associated country and all of the targeted EPCs.
