Preparation of titania compounds by double-reductive hydrochloric acid leaching of ilmenite concentrate is reported. A rod-shaped nanostructure titania compound was obtained via centrifugation of leach liquors as a by-product. The liquors of leaching experiments were subjected to zetasizer test. The suspended particles in leach liquors were investigated using SEM and TEM analysis. The results revealed that the rod-shaped particles were smaller than 100 nm in width. The XRD analysis verified the formation of rutile and pseudorutile phases as main phases. Regarding to the XRF analysis, The TiO2 content of ilmenite increased from 33% in ilmenite concentrate to about 80% in the products containing some constituents such as Fe2O3, SiO 2 and Al2O3. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.

The goal of the present research paper is to study the effect of cash flow on investment levels in companies. 75 firms accepted in Tehran Stock Exchange were investigated for their performances during the years between 2004 and 2010. The year 2008 was assumed to be the index year. In this paper the effects of four variables related to operational cash flow, financial supply and investment on investments' levels were studied. These variables are operational incomes, operational profit, debt ratio, and change in tangible fixed assets. The results of the regression test showed that cash flow, previous operational incomes, operational profit, and the ratio of debts and tangible fixed assets have a positive and meaningful effect on investment levels in companies but the future operational income does not affect companies' investments.

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation of Ziziphora (Thymyus valgaris), Oregano (Oreganum valgare) and Peppermint (Lamiaceae Mentha piperita) on performance [feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR)] and carcass characterization of broiler chickens. 240 ROSS strain broiler chicks were selected and divided into 4 treatments and 3 replicates based on completely randomized design. The groups comprised group 1 or control (fed basal diet, without medicinal plant supplementation), group 2 (fed 1% Ziziphora, 0.5% Oregano and 0.5% Peppermint), group 3 (fed 1% Oregano, 0.5 Ziziphora and 0.5% Peppermint) and group 4 (fed 1% Peppermint, 0.5% Ziziphora and 0.5% Oregano). Significant effects of dietary medicinal plants mixture on performance and carcass quality were observed (P<0.05). The highest feed intake (163.53 g) was recorded for group 2, while the highest daily weight gain (166.53 g), best feed conversion ratio (FCR: 1.91), highest carcass yield (70.76% of body weight), lowest abdominal fat (2.34%) and lowest gastrointestinal weight (6.34%) were recorded for group 3, in comparison with other experimental groups. In conclusion, dietary supplementation of 2% from this combination of medicinal plants (1% Oregano, 0.5% Ziziphora and 0.5% Peppermint) caused performance and carcass quality improvement via more weight gain increase in carcass yield and then decreases abdominal fat deposition. © 2011 Academic Journals.

Different methods have been presented to optimize the need to query processing optimization in databases. Reasons of these need increase the amount of data and the queries sent to the Database Management System. This article presents a multi agent system for heterogeneous distributed database by compiling two technologies of query processing optimization in database. This system is compatible of ordering adaptation and it is also flexible in adapting necessary changes as it progresses. In this system a new Algorithm based on modeling of users' long term requirements is used. In this system an Agent gathers data related to manner of users' usage from join in queries. Results of performances show that suggested Algorithm have high adaption ability with comparison to classic Algorithm. © 2010 IEEE.

Different methods have been presented because of the needs to query processing optimization in databases. The reason of these needs is to increase the amount of data and the queries sent to the Database Management System. Even though there are various methods presented to optimize queries, the problem is that in most of these methods, the execution plan is deleted after the query is conducted. This study tries to provide a method that uses optimized execution plan obtained from executing a query for the next executions or executing a similar query in order to reduce time needed for executing queries. The method presented in this study has been tested on real practical software databases and the results shows 11% improvement. © 2010 Crown Copyright.

In recent years there has been a growing interest in wireless sensor networks (WSN) applications. Such sensor networks can be used to control temperature, humidity, contamination, pollution etc. Energy consumption and reliability are two critical issues in WSNs. Faults occurring to sensor nodes are common due to lack of power or environmental interference. In this paper recovery of faults in cluster head studied and genetic algorithm is used to recover cluster members to other cluster heads. Simulation results show that proposed genetic algorithm can recover nodes efficiently. © 2012 Springer India Pvt. Ltd.

In this paper, we demonstrate a compact and integrated optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) based on metal composite single nanoparticle. We present and analyze an OSA at nanoscale which is able to selected different frequency contents of the incident field and illustrate with corresponding different amplitudes and wavelengths on monitor. The spectrum analyzer is composed of a single metal nanocomposite particle, forming relatively tunable narrowband filter implemented by Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) that operates at different frequencies. The composite metal nanoparticle composed of plasmonic core-shell nanoparticle is used as a building block for this idea in our study. Also, the proposed idea can easily be integrated on optical chips. The present design is simple for realization using optical integrated circuits, and has high accuracy and compact. This new OSA is suitable for spectroscopy of molecular systems in a nanoscale pattern for increasing density of integration in integrated systems.

In this paper, performing a practical project and using design of experiments method that is one of the most important tools in off line quality control, the effect of three factors, preheating, electrode diameter and thickness on tensile strength steel st37 has been investigated. Each of these factors has two levels that preheat in temperature 150°C and no applying preheat, electrode diameter 3.25 and 4 and sheet thickness 15 and 30 mm are considered. Accordingly, for data analysis, the statistical tools, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and different diagrams were used.
