Chemical Fibers International | Year: 2015
A new innovation implements a cross-section fiber including at least 2 distinct regions with specific functional attributes to satisfy growing demand for fine-denier elastane fibers. The new fiber known as Lycra T222S offers splittable spandex multifilament yarns wherein surface modification of the fiber prevents coalescence or adhesion of the individual filaments during manufacture, storage, and processing. Lycra T222S provides a low-friction spandex elastomeric yarn suitable for knitting, beaming, and covering applications.
