The paper presents two methods for testing textile products. They have been implemented into the range of tests at the Metrology Laboratory of MORATEX, accredited by Polish Centre for Accreditations: PN-EN ISO 14419:2010 "Textiles. Oil repellency. Hydrocarbon resistance test", PN-EN 1149-3:2007"Protective clothing. Electrostatic properties. Part 3: Test methods for measurement of charge decay". The repeatability and reproducibility of standard test methods have been, -examined on a basis of executed interlaboratory comparisons, which allowed for assessing the ability of the laboratory to perform tests competently and obtain reliable results.

The paper presents newly developed slow-burning, warning vest designed for Police officers. All materials forming the vest meet the requirements of PN-EN 471 + Al: 2008, " Clothes-visibility warning for professional use. Test methods and requirements" and PN-EN ISO 15025:2005 "Determination of resistance to ignition of textiles". Taken a test batch of slow-burning new elaborated vest. Police Headquarters has selected officers from two departments (Prevention and Traffic) for performance tests. Vests with proper dimensions match the dimensions of a sample of officers selected for testing. To facilitate the collection of opinions on the characteristics used jackets designed questionnaire, the results are shown in the chart.

With the development of civilization scientists create various new materials and / or refine those already known. Over the past several decades, noted considerable interest in the so-called intelligent materials is observed. This group, beside the color-changing material, and light emitting fluids belong also magnetorheological fluids (MRF) which change their structure under the influence of external magnetic field. In this paper, a brief review of selected applications of magnetorheological fluid is given.

The article presents a historical overview of optical camouflage. Based on the information gathered from the literature, the latest types of such masking, developed and applied into textile products, are discussed. The paper presents some examples of the optical digital camouflage worldwide, according to the adopted classification.


Pontoons are metal objects of boat-like structures that support a floating bridge or ferryboat. The most common logistic problem with using these devices is their large overall mass and dimensions. However, textile pontoons overcome these challenges due to the significantly smaller and lighter construction. This review discusses the pontoon designs used worldwide as well as the solutions developed at the ITB MORATEX.
