Twenty Ionic liqs. (org. lactates and cyklamates) were used against granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius L),beetles and larvae of confused flour beetle (Tribolium confusum Duv.) and the larvae of khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium Ev.) and evaluated by using lab. "choice" and "nochoice" tests. The tests confirmed a high feeding deterrent activity of the ammonium ionic liqs.comparable to the activity of azadirachtin. The type of anion had a relatively small effect on the activity of the liqs. Source

A review,with 5 refs., of author's own papers on synthesis and agricultural use of mono and bifunctional ionic liqs. In particular, 2 new ionic liqs. with (4-chloro-2-methylphenoxy)acetate and (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)acetate anions and a new ionic liq. with chloride-2-chloroethyltrimethylammonium cation and herbicidal anion were taken into consideration and their properties were described. Eighteen novel bis-ammonium herblcidal Ionic liqs. were synthesized by partial or total bromide anion exchange In RMe2N+(CH 2)nN+Me2R.2Br (where n = 4,5 or 12 and R = Bu,C10H21,C14H29,C 16H33,PhCH2 or i-Pr) to 4-chloro-2- methylphenoxyacetate and optionally to 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoate anions and studied for soly. in common solvents and herbicidal activity against cornflower (Cen-taurea cyanus L.),white mustard (Sinapis alba L.) and oil seed rape (Brassica napus L). The herbicidal activity of the salts was comparable to a com. herbicide (K or Na 4-chloro-2-methylphenoxyacetate). Source

Four samples of com. V catalysts were taken from an Industrial plant for manufg. H 2SO 4 (fresh and after 1-3 yr of operation) and analyzed for V 2O 5 K 2O and Fe contents, for porosity and for activity in SO 2 oxidn. at 380-620°C. The presence of F compds. and - moisture In the gas phase resulted in the catalyst deactivation. Source
